Mulyangiri(Complete Raw)

Just finished a short but raw trek up to Mullayanagiri Peak. For those who don't know, it's the highest peak in Karnataka, sitting at around 6,300 feet.

I started right from the base, and it was a short hike—barely 30 minutes to get up there. The views along the way are truly incredible. I would highly suggest people actually walk the trail instead of taking a jeep up; you miss out on so much of the experience if you drive.

Once I reached the base of the main stairs leading up to the peak, we decided to take a detour. There is a side trail that loops completely around the staircase. It takes you to the opposite side of the mountain and offers a stunning, panoramic view that most people completely miss.

It was incredibly soothing and fun, mostly because the trail was pretty much empty. I only ran into two other people on the way, and I made sure to suggest the side trail to them, too. If you're planning a visit, skip the stairs and find the side path!

Chianti Indiranagar - A Deeply Disappointing and Overpriced Experience

I rarely feel compelled to write negative reviews, but my dining experience here left me genuinely sad and incredibly frustrated. For a restaurant widely touted as one of the best Italian establishments in town, it fell monumentally short of expectations.

The Service: Condescending and Pushy

The evening started going downhill the moment we interacted with our waiter, who showed absolutely no interest in guiding us through the menu. When I asked how the pasta was, he dismissively stated that he personally didn’t like pasta. When I inquired about the pizzas, he condescendingly remarked that "pizza and pasta are for kids" and urged us to order something else.

The pushiness didn’t stop there. When ordering wine, he aggressively insisted on a specific bottle and completely brushed off my request to try it first. He then relentlessly pressured us into ordering a non-vegetarian platter. I admit a degree of fault for not double-checking the price in the moment, but the platter ended up costing ₹3,000 and frankly, it wasn't even worth ₹1,000.

Note: The only saving grace of the service was the manager, who eventually noticed the situation and intervened. I am genuinely grateful for their kindness, but a manager shouldn't have to rescue a table from their own waitstaff.

The Food and the Bill: Mediocre at a Premium

Our final bill came out to roughly ₹8,700, and the culinary experience was nowhere near worth a ₹9k price tag.

The Highs: The lamb on the platter was genuinely good, and the Tiramisu was decent.

The Lows: The pasta was a massive letdown, the drinks were poorly crafted, and the rest of the meal desperately needed improvement.

To the management: I strongly suggest sending your pizza chef to Pizza 4P's in Indiranagar. They aren't even a traditional Italian joint, yet they serve the absolute best pizza in town miles ahead of what was served to us here.

Final Verdict

I have never left a restaurant in Bangalore feeling this disheartened by the food and hospitality. While I recognize this is my personal opinion and others may have differing experiences, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this place to anyone. For these prices, you expect culinary artistry and impeccable hospitality; instead, we received mediocre food and a patronizing attitude. You really need to work things out.

Hey everyone! My friend and I (duo) are heading to Chikkamagaluru this coming long weekend and looking for 1 or 2 more people to join us to split costs and share the experience.

The Plan:

Departure: Thursday night (Apr 30) via KSRTC Sleeper bus.

Return: Sunday night (May 3) back to Bangalore.

Trek Focus: Mullayanagiri + Baba Budangiri Ridge on Friday, and Netravati Peak on Saturday.

Stay: Backpackers hostel (looking at Zostel or Trippr) to keep it social.

Budget & Logistics:

We are doing this via public transport + local bike/jeep rentals (estimated total cost around ₹6k per person for everything).

Looking to split jeep hire costs (which can be ₹2k-3k per trip) to keep it economical for everyone.

About Us:

We are chill, easy-going travelers who take trekking seriously but also love a good coffee/estate vibe.

If you’re interested in joining a DIY trip rather than a commercial travel group, drop a comment or DM me!
