Not much of a sparky beyond some very basic tinkering.
I've played through a new production model Fender Deluxe Reverb. It's a very fine amp.
If I were to buy a new one, what would go into making it "more like the old ones", so to speak?
Is it as simple as swapping for period correct components, or are there fundamental voice differences in today's amps?
I'm saying Fender as an example, but I'm thinking of all amps as well.
