Caramel 'Valkyrie' Sadala

Sous' Thoughts:

Typically, when introducing everyone to a new member of our pack of allies, Terra would be the one who details where they came from, but since Caramel is from my timeline, I will be taking Terra's role this time.

So, meet Caramel Sadala. She and her sister, Cocoa, are Saiyans from Universe 2, specifically from my timeline of Planet Sadala (obviously). At first, I personally didn't think much of them, as I was a lowborn and they're both Elite Saiyans, so they didn't know about me either.

Well, until I challenged their father and defeated him. King Sadala, when ordering the Saiyans to invade a planet, would send me alone without a squad. The day I figured out the why was the day I challenged him. Turns out he wasn't happy that a Low Rank Saiyan was constantly bettering his conquesting and getting stronger as the days went by. Turns out I was the one in my timeline to discover Zenkais and the benefits. Salt sending me without backup and me coming back, barely alive, was triggering Zenkai after Zenkai. By the time I challenged Cararmel and Cocoa's father, I was the most powerful Saiyan on the Planet. What I didn't account for was Caramel and Cocoa's presence when I bested him.

The two of them seeing they're father beaten unconscious, changed them forever. Caramel thought litttle of her father's defeat, she understood that I challenged Salt as an equal and dueled me as one and in her eyes, the better Saiyan won. Cocoa, did not see it that way. In her eyes, Salt was Elite, she and Caramel were elite and therefore, the status quo must be maintained and me defeating her father did the polar opposite.

As the pair grew up, they both trained relentlessly for different. Caramel simply wanted a match against me, she acknowledged my strength and wanted what her father got. A duel betweeen two kinsmen. Cocoa, wanted revenge. Even though I didn't kill her father or any of the Saiyans who challenged me after. But to Cocoa, defeeat might as well be the same as death. Caramel thought little of Cocoa's inane plan as she thought it was simple-minded and unnecesarily stubborn. But still, the two trained so when they met me again, they'd (think) they would be ready. But time moves differently across different planes of reality, and across different timelines.

While I spent 59 years, living among the Kais, earning the ire of the Grand Minister and being blinded, training under Shin and joining Time Patrol and meeting Jacquet, and Terra, in our timeline, 27 years passed to them. They both achieved Super Saiyan, Cocoa found a way to get to SS3, while Caramel achieved a unique variant of SS, one with Red Eyes, and a Fiery Orange Ki.

They didn't know where I was until after I returned to our timeline for my vacation. They sprung their plan. Cocoa, having more personal vendetta with me, chose to duel me, whereas Caramel went after Terra. And how she found Terra was a result of Cocoa's killing of Shin, the same Shin who helped me get over my blindness. The plan went beyond south.

They thought that achieving Super Saiyan would give them an easy victory over us both. But Terra and I showed them both that the Universe is much more vast than Planet Sadala. Terra would even achieve UI Omen moments before her duel with Caramel began. Defeating them was of miniscule difficulty, the only reason Terra was even hurt was because Carmael blindsided her while she was analyzing her SS Form. We both agreed to kill them both since they weren't going to stop at being knocked out. But fortunately for them, Chronoa quickly surmised what had happened and imprisoned them both much to our chagrin.

They were both brought to the Sentencing Room, while Terra, Jacquet, and myself were present. Chronoa ran them both down, and accused them of an attempted murder on two Super Rank Time Patrollers, as well as Cocoa's murder of that timeline's Shin, which meant that the Beerus of that timeline is also dead. Caramel was spared a harsher punishment due to admitting that she didn't have a hand in killing Shin, she only went along with her younger twin was to make sure that her attempt at killing Sous was the only thing she did.

Chronoa explained what she did, what we did as Time Patrollers, and I swear even from a far distance I can see a spark light up in Caramel's eyes. Terra and Jacquet picked up on it as well. That's what Chronoa wanted. She offered them each one chance, one opportunity. Join Time Patrol as Patrollers, or be punished for the ruination of an entire timeline.

Caramel, knowing that joining meant she could battle history's strongest warriors throughout time, accepted the offer immediately. Funny, it reminded me of when I initially joined Time Patrol.

Cocoa however, couldn't let her grudge with me go. She violently refused, used the last of her Ki Reserve to transform into SS and rushed Chronoa, which sealed her fate.

Terra intercepted her, and personally carried out Cocoa's punishment. Death.

While initally distraught, Caramel had an inkling that Cocoa's vendetta against me would get her killed and after seeing Terra essentially Hakai her in everyway but actually Hakai'ing her, proved her inkling correct.

At any rate, Caramel was sworn in by Chronoa and Trunks and became the newest member of Time Patrol. Chronoa initially wanted Caramel to be Jacquet's new partner, but all three of us shut that down immediately.

As for how the others react to Caramel, she's very well liked by the other Patrollers as once she got passed Cocoa's stupid plan, she revealed herself to be very bold, and bombastic. Despite her intimidating appearance to some, she's deceptively easy to approach. She speaks of battle and eating like a viking does. Hence why the other patrollers have taken to calling her 'Valkyrie'. And once Terra explained what a Valkyrie is and what they do to Caramel, she immediately accepted it.

She's climbing fast through the ranks, last I heard she was a Kai rank Patroller. Ironic.

The three of us, don't mind Caramel but we all have our eyes on her. She isn't strong enough to try and finish what Cocoa started but all the same she did aid Cocoa. Time will tell.

Raditz (DBZ): For those who don't know, Terra is Raditz's daughter from an alternate timeline of U7, and she spent a lot of her life with him. Due to having a higher power level than him at birth, he subjected her to copious amounts of verbal and physical abuse during their time conquering on behalf of the Freeza Force. Fasha standing up to him is what caused Terra to rebel against him. After killing him with Fasha's help, she grew up with the intention of being everything her father wasn't. He was arrogant, and Terra is humble. Raditz was harsh, and Terra tried to be kind, but that is hard for her to do since, despite hating him with every fiber of her being, Terra inherited parts of his personality. Her brutal approach to fighting, her confrontational nature, and most importantly, her short temper all came from Raditz. Fasha and Sous contributed heavily in reining in her anger issues, but it would take training under Roshi for her to finally gain control over them, which, if you didn't notice, was incredibly recent. Raditz is an inspiration in the sense that she's an example of someone she DOESN'T want to be.

Fasha (Z / Super): Fasha was the person who took the responsibility of raising Terra after the pair killed Raditz. She was the one who pushed her to change her name and to use her fighting capabilities to defend others, instead of serving a being who secretly wanted them both dead. Interestingly enough, Fasha's parenting style and Raditz's are similar. Fasha was hard on Terra, but unlike Raditz, who abused her due to his insecurity and envy, Fasha held Terra to a high standard because of what she was capable of. That's the main reason why Terra put up with it. She recognized, even as a kid, that Saiyan parenting, even when done with the best intentions, is far from the standard we're accustomed to. The pair would grow to love each other as Mother and Daughter, even if they wouldn't say it aloud. But most importantly, Fasha made Terra no longer ashamed of being a Saiyan, and that's why she still wears Saiyan Armor variants as her pseudo TP uniform. Though she enjoys being Sous' partner and friend, she still misses Fasha immensely. Fasha, being Terra's first legitimate sparring partner, also fueled her already aggressive approach to combat, even if Terra would compare Fasha's combat style to a violent ballet.

Goku (I wonder from where?): Terra and Fasha were a part of their timeline's version of DBZ's story up until after the Cell Saga, where they were both hired by Chronoa, so Terra got to interact with Goku, who's her uncle. Thanks to him, she and Fasha had a home in the form of Grandpa Gohan's old house. Spending time with her uncle and cousin inspired her even more to be a defender of Earth, which is why she took the name, Terra. Hell, Goku and, by extension, Gohan and even Chi-Chi held such a massive impact on her; if you ask Terra for her full name, she'll respond with 'Son Terra' as she was formally adopted by Chi-Chi before the Cell Games. Goku also inspires Terra not to get complacent in her training since even after defeating the big bad, he still relentlessly trains, so Terra does the same. Thank Shenron for Sous.

Cid and Evi (XV2): Oh boy, talk about deep cuts. Before migrating to Steam, I was on Console, specifically PS4 and PS5. Cid (Top Right) and Evi (Middle Right) were two of my six Console Patrollers, and they were my Saiyans. Their origin story was that they were the twin daughters of Raditz, so even back when I was still on console, I had the idea in mind. Cid was the Ki Blast Super build, and Evi was the Strike Super build, and their personalities were the inverse. Cid was aggressive and impulsive, being the younger twin. Evi was calm, professional, and stoic, being the older twin. Terra's personality is going from Cid to Evi, which is how they inspired her, and Terra being well-received among my fellow contemporaries here shows me that they're living well in spirit through Terra herself.

I'm definitely out of the loop here since this kinda post stopped being the trend months ago, but after talking with u/Casual_Formalities for a minute, it inspired me to do the post as opposed to what I was originally going to post. So here are the four characters that inspired me to create Sous:

Genkai (Yu Yu Hakusho): The primary inspiration for Sous, Genkai, is, in my opinion, the poster character for the Old Female Martial Artist Trope, at least in this type of media. Badass female characters exist everywhere in animation, but so few of them are among the elderly. When I created Sous initially, she wasn't ANYTHING like she is now. She was always supposed to be Terra's partner, and she was always supposed to be a Saiyan, but she was originally going to be vain, self-centered, and still loved to fight. But I scrapped that and went back to the drawing board. Then I thought of Genkai, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Master Roshi (Dragon Ball / Z / Super): From one Poster Character to another. You think of Anime Master, Roshi, or Turtle Geezer, as Terra calls him, is most likely the first character you think of. Roshi is the primary inspiration for Sous' personality, as, despite being the strongest of the characters I've introduced to you all, Sous is a bit of a goof, what with her being completely numb to the blind jokes that she constantly tells. More importantly, she is a firm reminder of the lesson Roshi taught Goku at his first Tenkaichi Tournament: 'There is always someone stronger out there.'

Akuma (Street Fighter): Probably the character you didn't expect to see here, since Akuma is more of a Chaotic Neutral character, while Sous is more of a Neutral/Chaotic Good character since she actually does her job as a Time Patroller. But Akuma was the main inspiration for Sous when she was young, as all she wanted to do when she was young was fight and get stronger. It's why she ended up challenging Cocoa and Caramel's father, it's why she lived among the Kais for a year, and it's why she was spotted by Heles. Hell, her original plan was to take Sour's staff, travel to other universes, and battle their respective Kais and G.O.D.s until Zeno and Grand Minister caught her. Even her joining the Time Patrol until she met Terra was because she could fight against the strongest mortal warriors throughout time. Becoming Terra's partner was pretty much the best thing that happened to her since the Zenkais; they both get help with their jobs, but Sous gets what she initially wanted out of Time Patrol. A really strong opponent to fight.

Toph (The Avatar Series): When I did Sous over, she was always going to be blind, and if you haven't noticed, Sous doesn't wear shoes. The inspiration for both (more so the latter than the former) came from Toph. Since Toph learned how to Earthbend from Moles who are also blind, she needed a workaround for her lack of sight. So she also learned Seismic Sense, which allows her to see movement. Sous does the same using her Ki to see. So that's why Sous does not, and will not wear shoes.

Not Pictured Inspirations:

Jun Kazama (Tekken): We'll keep these short since they're not pictured. Sous's manner of speaking and constantly using terms like 'dear' and 'sweetie' come from Jun's motherly nature.

Chi Long Yu (Original Character): I'm a writer on FF and AO3, have been doing it for nearly a decade at this point, so I've come up with numerous OCs over the years. Chi Long Yu, or Yu, was a Street Fighter OC. Her deal was that she was an Elderly Lady who fought with various Chinese Martial Arts. She was also a host for the Satsui No Hadou, but instead of treating it like a villainous entity like Ryu or Gouken or as the way to true mastery like Akuma, Yu would treat it like a generic tool to augment her abilities since she was old like Sous. She would completely ignore its temptations to the point of it being comedic. She never left the concept stage, but she further inspired Sous, so she lives on in her.

Jacquet easily had the most catching up to do. Her abduction by Dabura essentially set her back immensely, and while her conversion into an Android helped shorten the gap between her Master (Sous) and friend, bordering on little sister (Terra), the sparring sessions the two would have and the Zenkais they obtain would easily minimize any gains Jacquet would make. So when she, Terra, and Sous were finally sent on vacation, she went to work on shortening the gap between Terra and Sous. Firstly, she stopped making use of her Majin Form, as according to 21, it was slowly corrupting her, and if she kept using it, she would essentially become Majin 21 from Fighterz, which explains the white streak in her hair. Secondly, she would find Sous, who rarely left Conton during her time off and would restart and finish her training under Sous' Battle Philosophy, 'The Way of the Kai'. Her Android body made the process incredibly quick since she rarely needed to rest.

She graduated, and Sous gifted her a Way of the Kai Uniform as a graduation present. But the most important thing, Jacquet gained access to DIVINE KI. And then, she found a way to combine her God Ki with her naturally Dark Ki to obtain a new form that is normally not possible.

So, any questions for the now 29-year-old Jacquet?

A quick explanation of an N.S., since I couldn't explain it in the photo captions.

An N.S. or Non-savable timeline is when a timeline veers so far off course that Time Patrol can't stabilize it. In that case, the Time Scroll that holds that timeline is destroyed. Think of Exterminatus in Warhammer; that's the equivalent in this version of events. And Sous is normally correct. If a timeline's Supreme Kai and G.o.D. are killed, then it is a Non-savable Timeline. So, Chronoa, not killing Cocoa immediately, is strange considering her crime.

In her Q&A Part 3, I mentioned that Terra's vacation from TP began six months due to being ordered to train under Master Roshi at his and Chronoa's request. It was her Master Roshi, which is why she agreed to do it in the first place. This scene takes place days before she graduates. And it's Terra's perspective of the Unwarranted Guest scene. If you paid attention in part 1, Cocoa mentioned her sister, Caramel.

So what has Sous been up to this past year? A few things of note. Firstly, Sergeant Brussel requested to duel her, and she obliged him before being confronted by someone from her past, before she left Planet Sadala. After dealing with her guest, her old student, Jacquet, paid her a visit. And after a brief but eye-opening conversation, Sous decided to resume Jacquet's training.

All the while, Sous was learning directly under Chronoa and, as a result, has access to Time Skip. Sous completed Jacquet's training, all the while gaining strength herself. Weirdly enough, after all that, she realized that her body felt...... younger. Upon inspection, thanks to 21, Sous learned that her body is reverse aging.

So, any questions for the now 79-year-old Sous?

The three of them have gone through some changes in the last year. For Terra, during her vacation, she trained under the Turtle Hermit under Chronoa's order, her final order before she went on her break. Only after Master Roshi was satisfied with what she learned could her vacation begin. This was in her timeline, btw, so she reunited with her version of her family, her Goku, her Krillin (whom she calls Uncle Krillin), her Bulma (which she calls Aunt Bulma), Fasha, and her 18.

After her training was concluded, Roshi was happy with what she retained. Bulma and 18 worked together to get Terra another outfit since she was STILL wearing that Plain White Tee and Black Pants and boots, and got her a new hairdo. By the time Chronoa called her back to Conton City, a whole year had passed. Now she's back with the Time Patrol, and she's more mellow (not completely), and she's raring to go! Any questions?

On a side note, Modding. Don't ask how many times I had to start from square one. I'll be more careful in the future. Good to be back.

I won't beat a dead horse regarding my modlist; it's going well, and that's good enough for me at the moment.

With Jacquet's Round Two, this will be my last upload until I fix my modlist backup, which is getting closer and closer. I'll have the three ladies poke their heads in regularly, as I love interacting with you all through them. A shame I didn't get to show off Jacquet as much as I did with Terra and Sous, so hopefully you ask her a lot of Questions.

Modlist is slowly being built back up, and I found a method and order to do it that'll keep the game stable! So hopefully, I can show off those two new characters soon. The most difficult thing about it all is Revamp, since it's deceptively easy to break. I'm thinking that it might have to be the last one I reinstall, since, as it is now, it still works perfectly fine with the exception of the CaC suite, all of the hair options, the tails, and any other mods involving CaC disappear. If anyone knows why that is, lemme know in the comments or shoot me a DM.

As I said in the Sous post, this is the second of three Q&A Round Twos I'm posting until I finish cleaning my modlist.

So, I started my modlist over from scratch, but that only partially solved the problem since I can't do PQs or go into Photo or Training Mode, so I decided to nuke everything and start over again.

I'm not crying over it since I've dealt with stuff like this before (I've beaten Sonic '06 on Console, and I've created multiple modded playthroughs of New Vegas and Skyrim), so I know it won't take as long. Still, it sucks a lot. So, I'm gonna post a final Q&A with the three characters I've posted on the subreddit, starting with Sous here.
