Ways to find volunteers?

Hi everyone, I’m seeking advice on finding new volunteers for a food pantry in Crown Heights (and also just general advice on the topic unrelated to location).

We have an NYC Service account, Idealist, email list, etc. but it really feels like folks come in waves. Then we have periods where we are really struggling to find people to volunteer.

Do you actually read paper flyers in your neighborhood/in coffee shops? Is it worth posting them?

Any insights on how you found a volunteer gig in NYC?

I know social media is going to be a big answer here, but how do you get folks interested in your pages/profiles and to see your content to begin with?

Obviously feel free to also let me know if you’re interested in learning more about volunteering. Thank you!!
