Final year MBBS student in a very top ranked uni, ready to give PLAB, my target speciality is anesthesiology or orthopedic surgery, if anyone has any tips or advice please let me know, thank you!
So confused and don’t know what to do
Hey guys, I am an Afghan citizen living in the Middle East and currently I have two choices ahead of me: either I go to RCSI Bahrain for MBBS or go to Italy for MBBS. Money isn’t an issue.
I have someone very dear to me in Bahrain and who means everything to me, I would really love to go and be with her there studying medicine together but the post graduate problems are the real issue, residency here in the Gulf as a non citizen is impossible and obviously I can’t go back to my own country, and seeing how hard residency is startling to become in US/UK/AUS etc makes me think that there isn’t really much I will be able to do after I graduate.
Italy however I can learn the language during my MBBS years and give post graduate examinations and secure a residency somewhere in the country. It does on paper look like a better option but it would require me to end a life long relationship I have had, and I don’t know what to do at all, I hope someone here will have some insight and advice.

Is RCSI Bahrain worth it?
Hey guys so I am a non-Gulf citizen (I am from a weak passport holding country but I am not from India) thinking of going into med, I am not sure where to go but I found about this UNI and the reason I like it is because it’s closer to home however the cost is gargantuan, it’s 50K per year in tuition costs and the living costs add another 15K so 65K. Or I can go into a med school in the EU. My final goal is to settle abroad doing USMLE or the EU. What would you guys suggest? Thank you.
I have a question for the students of RCSI Bahrain
For those of you who are not western passport holders, and not gulf citizens either, what are your plans for residency? Since the UK IMG route has been closed, it only really leaves the US as an option (or Germany/Australia but what would be the point of studying in RCSI when you could get an equivalent EU degree for much cheaper at an Eastern European university?). Which to be fair doesn’t really sound that appealing and very risky for the price you pay for the uni. I would love any insight from those of you in particular so please share your thoughts and experience, thank you.
