Checking in

Hi guys, I'm the gf of a SO and you guys have been very helpful. He doesn't have internet access so I'm always posting. We've applied to nearly 60 jobs. (please don't tell me that's not enough, I have to do so much for him and it's exhausting). His PO hasn't given much guidance (and rarely there when he comes in- he comes in on off days to ask questions) but she got frustrated with him today because he doesn't have a job, and then was like, "well I can get you a rec for this thrift store in town." Acting like he knew this all along.. This is the first actually helpful thing she's done in 7 months. We also are trying to get him into this program, Anti-Recidivism Coalition, that can help. Thank you to the person who told me about it! We're still seeing if it'll work out because his PO has to check with her supervisor if they'll let him use a tablet at probation for the zoom meetings. He has to do most of the group meetings online.

So anyway, it's been a lot of hurdles but things seem to be going in a positive direction. He is very stressed about potentially working in his county. It's small and everyone knows everyone. He's scared of people attacking him or worse. I'm trying to be encouraging. I feel like a thrift store is a relatively safe environment but I understand his fear. Thanks for listening

Similar dresses to the Debutante?

I really want the berry Debutante dress for a wedding and I found it on depop in my size but I think the seller isn't going to send it out. Now it's sold out at house of cb and Nordstrom. I like how it's A line midi, and especially the bodice. I don't know how to describe it, I like the Cindy too, but that's not formal enough. Also don't mind the Raisa but it's not totally what I'm looking for. I hope that gives you an idea of what I like. No sleeveless or spaghetti straps.

Job Help - Sacramento Area

I apologize I've posted before but I'm getting desperate. We're looking into warehouse jobs but we can't find a lot and they're all saying they'll background check so we'll see. Restaurants are off the table. I know people have mentioned UHaul but he has a bad driving record and even for a customer service associate they expect a clean driving record. Basically he has restaurant experience, no higher education, can't be around minors on pcrs right now, but he's a hard worker.

Eventually he'd like to do an electrician apprenticeship but that takes time and he needs a job now. Thanks

Working in restaurants with minors

My bf has been struggling to find a job and I guess I'm just venting and seeing if anyone has similar experiences/advice. He basically has a lot of cook experience, no formal education, a bad driving record, and we can't find any warehouse jobs so we figured restaurants would be a good option. We asked his probation officer about this:

Registrants whose sex offense conviction was for a crime where the victim was a minor under age 16 cannot be an employer, employee, independent contractor, or volunteer with any person, group or organization where the registrant would be working directly and in an unaccompanied setting with minor children on more than an incidental and occasional basis or have supervision or disciplinary power over minor children. This prohibition shall not apply to a business owner or independent contractor who has the ability to hire, fire, or discipline minors, but who does not work directly in an unaccompanied setting with minors. It does include those who provide goods or services to children.

and she said it was okay because he'd be in the kitchen and cooks are 18+, and FOH are more likely to be teens. But we figured out some places do hire teens as cooks. We had to cancel two interviews. We've applied to 40 places. One place won't answer their phone (AI assistant) so I can't call and ask, and he'd out himself if he asks. Just not sure what to even do at this point. Yes we have to keep trying but he's running out of money and it's just frustrating. Thanks for listening.
