I took inspiration from the NA face and wondered how I could make a modern circular headlight that looked like happy eyes, and not TOO Porsche-like but still have oval-ish headlights . The rear lights are more reminiscent of the NA

The next gen NE and GR86

I also wanted to create the sister car, the GR86. That one follows Toyotas new design language a lot more.
I took inspiration from the RAV4 tail lights, GR
Corolla headlights and GR Corolla grille. It also has to be a bit smaller now to fit the MX5 platform.
The last photos you can see how I pushed the Al to do exactly what I wanted.
