I have been bumping into this pigeon so often on Pinterest that I think it was a sign. The universe must have really wanted me to paint it. I really love how it turned out.
Gouache, Luminance and charcoal pencils, because I am not a fan of black paint and charcoal gives blacks a nice matte finish. The link to the process is in my profile.
Apparently, it is the most hated bird... 😧
I'm not sure why... but in any case, even pigeons deserve some love and attention!
On a side note, humanity's urge to take matters into its own hands has surely given the world some weird pigeon varieties... Some of those pigeons on Pinterest come straight from nightmares.

I picked up a Kangaro sketchbook this weekend; it's like an off-brand Moleskine, a 3-euro thing is fabulous purple colour 💟 . And I'm pleasantly surprised by how well it actually supports gouache. No paper warping!
I am on my birds-of-prey trip, and I think I have finally figured out the purpose of underpainting!
I have gotten into gouache in the past week or two and instantly fell in love with it.

I also love tiny aceo formats, or at least for now, until I have found myself more gouache xD. Having only a set of primaries is tricky.
I also noticed that gouache artists often paint on a very bright background. Can anyone maybe explain to me why? What is the benefit?

Recently, an amazing artist mentioned in a comment I made on this thread that I’ve been missing out because I’ve never tried gouache. Well, I finally did try it, and I love it! It’s fantastic to have a sort of "undo" option, allowing me to paint over my mistakes, something I can’t do with watercolours.
Right now, I am in my ACEO episode, so every piece of artwork is almost microscopic in size.
So, tell me: how did I do? I love some feedback: what can I improve?
I still have not decided on the platform I like the most, so I have parked Marshmellow the fashionista on artistcards.io
And Sandy the Atomic Lizard is on eBay.
Everything is gouache; I am absolutely falling in love with gouache....

Yeah, Guache is fun; it's lots like a safer version of watercolour.

So, since my last post, I decided to put some effort into it and set things up correctly.

I don't really understand how Artistcards.io works just yet. Am I supposed to list only one card a month? ... It is a strange portal.
Do you guys suggest checking out any other places/websites? Tiny gallery is US-only, so... that's a no-go for me, at least for now...
I am very proud of myself; these cards are super tiny, but they sure help me feel productive! I managed to make 8 in the past 2 weeks. I don't think I have ever produced that much art in such a short period of time.

I got a set of Holbein tubes.
These feel really strange compared to DS or W&N, which I'm so used to. I have a feeling Holbein blends very differently; these work great in layers, but not so great in wet-on-wet.
