I have made a lot of commissioned artwork ove the past few yrs.. now I think I wanna expand and start the art gallery stuff.. just idk where to start or how this whole thing works.. also I am not rich enough to travel to other countries for exhibition and my country isn't big on art..

So yea.. I saw the card, on YouTube coz I am not spending a dime.. and I am disappointed 😞

Look, if you like fluffy and happy stuff this card is full of that.. honestly it's only that..

It's very very fluffy.

But I have a lot of problems. Now I am not the kind of person who hates fluff. But when it comes to a SOLO card, I have some high expectations. Especially given Caleb's last year solo was so PEAK.

But this year, honestly this could be a free 5* story and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. This reminded me of Yearly Nostalgia at times. At its only around 30min too. 🙄

But here is the actual problem. No connection to main story whatsoever, heck not a single hint at anything main story related in a SOLO CARD. It's very obvious that they didn't even plan Caleb's main story while working on this card.

And gosh Mc keeps on suprising me with how clueless she is. Just when I think she must've figured things out by now nopes... It was really frustrating seeing her be so dumb.

I am all for fluff. But if it's a solo card, a paid card, there needs to be more to it than just a trip down the memory lane.

This card really reminds me of how INFLOP sees its audience, they think we don't care about any main story whatsoever (which is why they were so shocked when they found out we do care) and just think these cards are just shiny toys for us to spend money on.

It's especially worse for Caleb mains who haven't had his ms for 500+ days and you drop a paid card on us especially with the current state of the fandom.

And wtf is going on with them forgetting important Caleb lore. Spotlit Gaze and now this??! Seriously wtf..

I've tried to keep this non-spoilery but yea this sums up my feelings

That Caleb branch better be the most well-written thing this year coz I am on the verge of dropping this game.

Edit - I will say this tho, I am not trying to be a hater and the card is good/okish imo, just for a Solo I keep my expectations higher.. this card does have its share of good moments, moments which I enjoyed.. but for a SOLO that's not enough imo..

Look, I am gonna keep it short and simple. I am a Caleb main coz I love the yandere + bigbro energy of his. And out of all the standard myths and mainstory intros to Li's, Caleb's stood out to me and gravitated me towards him (pun intended!)

I really really loved the writing we had for Caleb during his intro Lucid dreams, Painful signal, Floating Floraletter 😭.. all peak cards imo

But I kept waiting and waiting for all the mysteries surrounding Caleb to be answered.. and yes the World Underneaths do answer SOME things.. but not enough..

And compared to the OG3, don't even get me started on how less his lore is.. after DAR, I was excited for Caleb's ms (but that was such a disappointing wait..)

I loved Vinesurge Instinct as it finally brought back up Caleb Arm lore.. but.. I feel like something was.. still missing..

It's just Caleb's story is so emotional and so captivating.. but I feel like the pacing for his story is a mess..

A lot of important things that were established:

Toring Chip, his C-Ptsd, his Nightmares, His lore with Mc at Gaia, etc etc

All of it is just.. not explored..

And what they did give us about his arm.. I like it..but it could've been explored much much better imo.. imagine if there were several cards where we see Caleb openly talk about how much he dislikes the arm as he sees himself as a monster coz of it.. and explore all those layers to his characters.. and then over the time and across several cards have Mc and him slowly accept that side of him, talk about it with each other and then we get Vinesurge Instinct, how much more impactful it would be..but no.. we didn't get any of that ..

I just feel like his story has so much potential to be so much more impactful than it is.. but the choices they made to stretch it all out and the pacing has really screwed up with his story and the enjoyment of it for me.

It was nice to have a Disabled character as an Li, but did Infold even explore it well.. nah we only see his mech arm like twice and talk about it in 2 cards that's all..

All the ptsd and trauma.. when will Mc find out about it all?? God knows..

Also what's going on with Caleb's myths.. like look I love yys.. but how is it connected to his main story, to me it feels as much of an Au as imperial thronesong is..

Sure there are themes that are common and such..but.. idk with every other Li myths it felt like I learned more about their main timeline self but here it doesn't add anything to mainstory Caleb.. although I read the English watered down version so I could be wrong..
