H4 EAD stuck at “case transferred” after H1/H4 approved

Filed H1B, H4, and H4 EAD together as a premium processing bundle. The H1B and H4 were both approved, but the H4 EAD status still shows “Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction.”

A few things confused about:

**•**	No biometrics appointment notice yet
**•**	Contacted a live agent and they only said it’s “still under processing” before the chat disconnected
**•**	I thought the EAD would be adjudicated alongside the bundle

Has anyone experienced this? How long did it take for your EAD to get approved after the transfer notice? Any suggestions on next steps (service request, congressman inquiry)?

Dealer quote for front brakes + tires on 2021 CX-5, fair price or should I go elsewhere

Took my 2021 CX-5 (35k miles) in for service and the dealer flagged my front brake pads and tires. The inspection sheet shows front pads at 3mm (they marked it red/0%) and all 4 tires at 4/32”.

I live in Seattle.

Here’s what they quoted:

**•** Front brake pad replacement + rotor resurface: **$554.86**
**•** 4 Yokohama Geolandar G91A tires (225/65R17), mounted and balanced: **$1,143.90** (buy 3 get 4th for $1 promo)
**•** 4-wheel alignment: **$189.95**

So roughly $1,900 for brakes, tires, and alignment before tax.

A few questions:
1. Do these prices seem reasonable, or is the dealer marking things up a lot?
2. Front pads at 3mm and tires at 4/32,do these actually need doing now, or can I wait a bit?
3. If it’s overpriced, where do you guys recommend for brakes and tires? Costco/Discount Tire for tires and an independent shop for brakes?

H-1B Transfer + H-4/EAD Concurrent Filing

Going through an H-1B employer transfer and had a bunch of questions about my spouse’s H-4 and H-4 EAD situation. Posting here in case it helps others and to get community input.

Our situation:
Spouse has H-4 and H-4 EAD valid until 2028 (based on my current employer). I’m switching jobs and doing an H-1B transfer which will generate new dates. We want to keep the dates of h1 and h4 align. Few questions

  1. Can we file her H-4 and H-4 EAD concurrently with my H-1B transfer even though hers is valid until 2028?

  2. Does she need to stop working while the new H-4 EAD is pending?

  3. Would her H4 status be impacted during my transition when I will stop working at the previous company to when I will start working at the new one?

  4. Can we travel on previous company visa stamps?

Apple ICT4 vs Stay AWS L5?

Currently L5 at AWS
- TC: 310K
- Leading a project, strong team
- Promo in progress (NOT guaranteed)

Apple's offer (ICT4, IS&T (AI&DP)):
- Year 1 TC: ~ 330k (trying to negotiate)

Pros for Apple:
- Senior title
- Job Security

Cons:
- IS&T mixed reviews

Pros for AWS:
- Team's good
- Established trust

Cons:
- Promo NOT guaranteed
- Leadership is messed up
- Layoffs
- TC bump small even if pass

YOE: 6

Questions:

  1. Anyone at Apple IS&T? Worth it?
  2. Senior at AWS worth more than senior at Apple?

Amazon L5 vs Apple ICT3

Got a verbal offer from Apple for a ICT3 role. Was told it's a senior position during the process but got downleveled to ICT3 at offer stage. I am currently L5 at Amazon and have a path to promo (this year) to L6 at Amazon. Recruiter mentioned ICT4 is not an option. Should I just walk away or get in and try for a promotion?

The real question boils down to the right level.

TC offered: 310k (175, 350, 50 signon)
Current: 300k
