What’s it like to be a pregnant new grad?

Hi i’m 25F (will 26 in a couple months) and will be finishing up with LVN school in December. I have no kids atm and want to get started before I get too old lol. My husband and I are planning on trying as soon as I graduate (if i’m not already pregnant before because i’m off birth control already). Has anyone here been pregnant in or right after nursing school and have any insight on what it’s like trying to find a job while expecting? I want kids very badly but realized it may be a little difficult starting out my career as a pregnant first time mom in such a tuff career. It’s always been my dream to be a nurse and have my own family.

After being worried I had lupus for years I am now diagnosed with POTS and fibromyalgia

I have to admit i’m oddly disappointed. Obviously I don’t want lupus but I feel like i’d have more treatment options and at least be taken more seriously. I’m 25 and have dealt with chest pain, palpitations, horrible tachycardia, joint pain, muscle pain, awful extreme fatigue, photosensitivity, etc for the past several years that has been getting worse and worse. My heart rate has been up in the 180s several times from basic activities like showering and getting dressed. My pain feels like constant stabbings and aches throughout my body especially in my joints and I am always extremely EXHAUSTED.

My EKGs and echos have been normal and I have had 2 positive ANAs before but when I had more specific testing for lupus, RA, and other autoimmune diseases it was all negative. I’ve had a high ESR and high sensitivity CRP in the past too. Sometimes I get hives on my hands and feet but I still don’t have answers for that. All my symptoms get worse with heat and sun exposure. I still feel like I don’t have the right answers but maybe i’m just in denial.

I’m taking meds for the heart rate but does anyone have any advice for getting through the fatigue? At this point I don’t care about the pain because i’m able to push through but the fatigue is absolutely debilitating.

I’m in nursing school and need reassurance

I’m currently in the middle level 2 of an LVN program (LPN in most states) and should be graduating (hopefully) in December.

I was diagnosed with bipolar very very young (I was either 13 or 14 I think) so I’ve had plenty of time to learn how to cope with this disorder after years and years of therapy and trial and error of meds and what not. I consider myself very high functioning and have worked as a nurse aide since I was 19 but have had jobs since I was 16. I eventually want to work my way up to being either a nurse practitioner or forensics nurse examiner.

Right now i’m in a major depressive episode and having doubts about how realistic my goals are.. I was making really good grades last semester but this semester has been rough. I’ve been crying nonstop and struggling to pay attention in lectures and end up having to teach myself everything all over again and have been turning in assignments right at the last minutes before they are due and have been struggling to study for exams. Every exam this semester has been studied for last minute. I’m still passing but I feel like i’m spiraling.

Im out of all but two of my meds because my schedule is so busy I had to reschedule my psychiatrist appointment (coming up soon though thank god) but because of that I’ve been out and have no refills until my next appointment. I also have not been taking one because it gives me HORRIBLE HORRIBLE symptoms to the point I can not get out of bed after taking it because my head pounds with every movement and I get a little disoriented and feel like i’m going insane. So i’m forced to just take my antidepressant for the last few weeks and am feeling horrible. I’m really starting to worry if I my expectations for myself are unrealistic or if i’m just extra insecure rn because i’m extremely depressed and pretty anxious

Would it be a bad idea to discuss my mental health with my nursing program director?

I am currently in level 2 of the LVN program at my college and I am starting to struggle a lot with my mental health but i’m afraid if I say anything I will be looked at differently/ assumed to be incapable of being a nurse.

I have dealt with extreme depression since I was in middle school. I have been on antidepressants and ADHD meds for as long as I can remember but recently had to come off ADHD meds because i’ve been dealing with some heart issues so now i’m having a hard time focusing in my classes and I still feel like crap despite being on zoloft. My psychiatrist started me on mood stabilizers which I had a bad reaction to (severe pounding headache apron movement, nausea, vomiting, feeling slightly disoriented) so I stopped taking it and cannot see my psychiatrist for a month to try something different.

Now I am only on zoloft and still feeling very depressed and trying to survive nursing school. I’m thinking about discussing it with someone so they can understand my situation in case my grades start to go down but I feel like I would be setting myself up for failure or risk getting dropped. I have been doing really well in school despite everything i’m going through but the last couple weeks i’ve struggled and feel like i’m not doing as well as I know I can. idk what to do

My school is giving me a second chance (again) but I feel guilty..

Can someone please tell me if i’m overthinking or am I right for feeling bad..

I just failed my second attempt at the IV piggyback check-off and you only get 2 attempts but my professor and the nursing program directors decided to let me try again next week. I’m very grateful to have another chance but I feel guilty because so many people have failed over small stuff and had to drop out or got kicked out of our program. We started out with 80 something students and now only have 50 something students because so many people didn’t make it.

I feel bad because last semester I missed 2 weeks of school because I had a concussion and the let me make up the exams and check-offs I missed as long as I had a doctors note saying I was to stay in bed and rest and detailing when I could come back and what not. So now that they are accommodating to me again it feels like i’m being unfair to my classmates. I did work very hard to catch up last semester and was commended for my efforts because I was unable to study or do anything productive in that time because of my head injury and the strain on my brain to read or look at screens so I am proud of myself for coming back strong and making good grades but this time i’m worried about what others may think.

The reason I was given another chance was because a couple professors couldn’t agree rather I was graded fairly or not and if you fail the second time you are dropped out of the program. One professor said I shouldn’t have failed because I didn’t properly set up my primary tubing because I forgot to take the tape off that kept it looped up and the other said I did everything perfectly and it was still functional. Plus they took into account I was being rushed because the professor that failed me had to leave soon even though she scheduled me at that time the day before.

I had classmates that had to drop out because they failed a class by half a point and another who failed the venipuncture second attempt and was dropped because she forgot to pop the tourniquet.. is my situation unfair?
