Industrial Engineer interested in more EE technical focus.
I'm currently studying Industrial Engineering as someone who switched from Electrical Engineering due to my school's just complete lack of care for the students in the EE department. I have always been between IE and EE and decided to make the switch to not only pursue a field that applies my skillset better but also so that I can actually get through my degree with professors and a department that isn't super masochistic.
Despite that, I've always been interested in certain parts of EE and was wondering what I could do, if anything, to position myself for a more technical jobs as an IE. I know that by switching I cut off a lot of niche opportunities but that's not really what I'm looking for. I still love learning about EE topics and was considering maybe getting a minor in ECE to show recruiters that I can be more technical adept than the average IE.
What are some suggestions and just how technical deep can I go as an IE who is interested in EE topics/fields>
