Experiences of invasive species?

I was recently in Lisbon, Portugal, and there are a lot of parakeets roaming around. The ones I saw and managed to snap pictures of were the Blue-crowned parakeet and the Rose-ringed parakeet. They both are invasive species to Lisbon, and I was trying to figure out how they have affected the ecosystem, but only found some research done in Seville. Does anyone have any examples of the ecosystem changing in their area due to invasive species?

Scariest looking bird?

This black-crowned night heron caught me by surprise whilst on a walk. Managed to snap some shots, stood eerily still, which made for some decent photos. Barring the Shoebill, it has to be the scariest looking bird right?

Edit: Was taken at the Lisbon Zoo and caught me by surprise as it wasn't a species that was officially in the Zoo. It was a wild heron that had found the penguin exhibit intriguing.

Enjoying the simple things

Sometimes you just have to enjoy your local most common birds, not everything needs to be taken on safari or in the jungle

Common merganser turning into a favorite

Before I started my wildlife photography journey I had no clue what a common merganser even was. Had I seen one? Probably. Did it ever stand out? Not really. But as I have started my wildlife photography journey, I realized that they are quite common in my area and slowly that have creeped into my list of favorite birds. I think their actions and behavior really stand out, but also the overall aesthetic is quite unique. Going to keep developing my photography skills, to capture them in even better moments!

Card 2 is write-protected?

Hi,

I have encountered a weird issue with my SD cards. When I was going out shooting yesterday, I got the "Card 2 is write-protected" error. I switched out the card and got the same error for my other card. I gave up, left it in there and went home. When coming home the card had for some reason started to work again, so I tried my first card again, but it still had the same issue. Upon inserting the now working card again, it once again got the error. I found a really old 4gb card at home, that for some reason works instantly, but my 128, 64 and an old 16b all have the Card 2 is write-protected" error.

I can not figure out if it's my camera or my cards. I have checked the switches on all of the cards, and all the cards are readable in my computer, which would lead me to believe that the issue is with my camera. But the camera can evidently read the 4gb, leaving me very confused.

Any guidance or tips would be really helpful!
