Little Bronco is getting a real overlander, stay tuned.

I’m building my own rooftop lightbar. Each light features two LEDs – white and yellow. Installing the two LEDs took four hours per light, plus some work on the lightbody as well. For scale, the last picture shows a 5mm LED.

For those who are interested, the lights are DAB32-030 and the LEDs are 0805. I connect them to an AW9523 which get power and data from ESP32-C3. I use the RC ESC for PWM reading on esp, get 5V supply and my free channel 3 to toggle the LEDs.

Light for my Bronco

I do like the standard lighting, but I want more realism. And my remote control still has an available CH3 channel. So, I connected an ESP32 to the receiver, read the PWM signal, and programmed automatic brake lights by bypassing motor signal; turn signals, hazard lights, and the light bar by button. I’m not a fan of automatic turn signals that react to the steering.

The next steps are to miniaturize the setup and change the intern light color from cool white to warm white.
Unfortunately, I’m heading off on vacation soon, so I’ll see you all later.

Ps: we have to make more detail parts, can’t find cool stuff.

I‘m new, and I had hours of fun this weekend.

So I ordered the scx30, Injora 26mm shocks and Injora 40mm King Trekker plus d19 wheels.

The first day, I drove stock. Was really fun and didn’t need an upgrade imho. Really nice little car.

Next day, the upgrades arrived.
Filled the shocks, put on wheels and then: it’s grinding everywhere in the wheel arch. Front and back, can’t even steer. Wheels kinda sucked into the body caused of the friction.

Honestly it ruins that feeling of upgrading, but nothing to worry about

So took some tools out and grind that sh.. down.
I really like the new look with those “flying” fenders, makes it more off-road.

What I’ve read here is to limit the way of the springs with an o rings, thanks Mr unknown.

Conclusion: really fun car but it was not so plug and play in the end. Next time I would rather buy the 35mm tires
