Some tips regarding byzantium succession law

  1. Blinding and castrating completely nullifies the lineage. You cant skip your son over to grandson by doing those.
  2. Women can never inherit but always passes it on.
  3. If the succession tooltip is showing no one, the game will still try to go up and find eligible characters through other branches.
  4. It has elective features as well. If game fails to/ or bugs out( happened to me) to find heirs, most competent person will be chosen.
My Komnenons line for byzantium , ruled unbroken from 1377, was interrupted by a weird bug where instead of going through my ruler’s oldest aunt ( Queen of spain) into her son, it went through second oldest aunt to her circassian husband.
The circassian pretender ruled for 20 good years, with no heir apparent.
After that, the game correctly traced back the lineage to the eldest son of the previously mentioned eldest Aunt.

So thats how i got spain into pu with personal union.
( the same spain that converted orthodox from my older post)

Pop growth comparison : 1.2.3 vs 1.2.4

This is 1.2.4

1.2.3

R5: Constantinople, which is probably the single largest beneficary of this change, gets +0.16% . Overall, there is 1800 new pops per month.
This is after a recent outbreak of bubonic plague that wiped out 1,5 million people.

I don't know... still feels weak considering i have 98% prosperity average, have irrigation and granaries maxed everywhere, and the sabbath and Theotokos tech.

The spanish , fed up with catholicism, decided to convert to orthodoxy.

R5: I mended the schism a while ago, and the spanish king decided to convert to orthodoxy . I guess they really like me! ( We fought together against infidels and the french)

About Catholicism

Why did they nerf catholicism even further? It was arguably pretty bad before, but now it is the worst religion in the game. What is the point in being catholic? Even bogomolism and kristianj js better now .
Can we have actual playable catholicism without reformation?( that doesnt work 80% of time, ai just vetoes everything)

Was nerfing dominions necessary?

As of this patch dominions have -40% cabinet efficiency. This is an enormous nerf combined with the vassals having -1 cabinet seat. Moreover, with how cores work they will no longer have cores and have really low control and unable to expand since they cant integrate. It seems way better to have normal vassals instead of dominons now or idk

The decaying disease resistance is brutal. It’s even worse since promotion takes so long now for jobs

Mein Gott, why did i take the sombulant or whatveer the perk was? The lack of a compass, incomplete map, no fast travel , extra energy drain and my legs taking a random strolll… It was a marathon before i got pebbles. Finished troskowitz in 40 hours, thank god for bows in this game as that trivialized most hard combat encounters.

Thank pebbles for levelling up and carrying all my ars everywhere.

Also Hans… what a fellah.

Henry is a beast tho, he can do everything there is!

Now i got the perks for full map and kuttenberg having way better road network it’s much easiers. Still, cant wait to continue .

Tldr: regret taking sombulant perk and not having compass sucks
