Finding the right pace to travel

In past year I’ve been lucky enough to visit 7 new countries. I’ve found out I love traveling more than I could have ever imagined. In the past all my trips have been short (less than a week) but two weeks ago I departed for my longest and farthest away trip. A month in Thailand.

I’ve heard so many amazing things about the country I was so excited before I even stepped foot here but as I began traveling a felt discouraged and almost disappointed. I spent the first two weeks going from place to place with long train and bus rides. It made the whole experience miserable. As the second half of my trip has started I’ve decided to slow down and stay in Chiang Mai the entire time and take a day trip or two. This whole experience has been extremely helpful in understanding what type of travel I actually enjoy and to travel for you and not what others expect of you. Being about to sleep in, bed rot on days I feel sick, or spend an hour or two in a cafe has made this whole trip much more fulfilling.

Best live music bars in Chiang Mai

I’ve spent the last couple days in Chiang Mai and loved North Gate Jazz Bar. The music and vibes were absolutely amazing but it’s obviously super crowded and touristy. Any other places I should check out? I’ll be here for another 9 nights so plenty of time to see some more bars!

Drug testing for interns

I’ve seen this question asked a fair bit but there never seems to be a straight forward answer. I will be doing the sales and management internship in a state where weed isn’t legal. I’ve been off for 30+ days so I would be fine but I’m in Thailand and debating on smoking some. I’ve heard drivers only get tested but my offer letter said something about a substance screening.

I will be heading to Pai in the next week or so and really want to see some of the nearby nature attractions but I’ve heard they aren’t really walking distance. I’ve ridden a scooter once but felt very unconfident riding it and I don’t want to risk injuries. Is it possible to get around with taxis or some other way?

Heading to Thailand today and my journey will take about 34 hours so I’m hoping to get a massage after I land. I know I’m gonna be tight and hurt like a mother fucker. Needs to be somewhere affordable as I’m backpacking and have a small daily budget. Also, only normal massage places I don’t need none of that happy ending sensual shit.

I’m not the most stylish guy but when backpacking I tend to wear only basic athletic clothes that can easily be rolled up and taken out unwrinkled. So, how can you maintain style when you have such a tiny bag and where clothes come out messy and untidied?
