How i sketched/illustrated on daily basis vs fashion school’s assignment.

Any advice or opinions? Be brutally honest. I could use it to improve my skills.

Most of my friends don’t really like it, but my lecturer said she could instantly tell it was my work because no one did it like I do. I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not.

Edit : The last slides are also my works.

Is top fashion school really worth it? Business/Design

As a fashion student in Bali, I attend one of the best art schools here. However, they don’t really teach us the process of making things step by step. I’m wondering if this is common in fashion schools everywhere, or if it’s just my experience.

We barely have any structured lessons. Most of the time, our teachers simply give us assignments and expect us to figure everything out on our own. It makes me question the purpose of attending fashion school if we’re not actually being taught how to do things.

At first, I thought this might be because my school isn’t considered a top fashion school. I’ve even been considering repeating my degree at a more prestigious institution. That’s why I’d love to hear from students or graduates of Parsons, LCF, CSM, Istituto Marangoni, ESMOD, or FIT.

Given the significant tuition fees at those schools, do they actually teach you from the ground up and help you develop practical skills? Do lecturers guide you through the process step by step, or are students also expected to learn mostly on their own?

How do you properly manifest the love of your life?

Every time I like someone and develop a huge crush on him, I never end up with him. It always turns out that he already has a girlfriend or is starting a relationship with someone else, no matter what. What am I doing wrong? I’ve tried listening to frequency sounds and affirmations but none of it worked. If it’s because i’m not aware that i actually didn’t want him, how do i know if i really want them?

What is the proper fashion term for this aesthetic?

How would you categorize this fashion style?

I’m trying to define the aesthetic of the pieces in my inspiration board but idk the exact name of these. I’ve tried to asked chat gpt but i’m still lost lol. They feature:

Asymmetrical pattern
Distressed/acid washes
Industrial hardware (zippers, buckles, D-rings)
Utility and moto-inspired construction
Futuristic silhouettes
Dark grey, silver, and washed black color palettes
A cyber/dystopian feel

Brands that come to mind are Diesel, Rick Owens, Ottolinger, Mugler, No Faith Studios, Blumarine, and Jaded London.

Why are fashion students is so mean?

I’m in my third year of fashion school, and I’ve realized how competitive people can be. Instead of supporting each other, many seem threatened by others’ success. Nobody wants to see you grow or improve. They’ll do whatever they can to bring you down, especially when someone’s work or assignment is better than theirs. Like i thought we were having our own market audience, like what are you competing for? Does anybody could explain me what’s happening and why?

What’s the best way to handle this? What kind of mindset should i have?

FASHION INDUSTRY

Halo, Saya F21. Saat ini sedang kuliah semester 4 di jurusan Fashion Design. Saya punya ADHD and i’ve talk to my psychologist based on my assessment results, i’m not compatible working under a company for a long term unless it’s a freelance job.

Just finished reading Jillian Lauren’s book about RF.

I’m genuinely curious. Does this mean having mistresses and sex before marriage was very normalized in their family? I wonder if it’s still happening today.
