When the realization hits you hard and I have to stay optimistic.

I know I'm not the only one experiencing this stuff. I have to stay strong and be optimistic to find a way to survive.

The pictures tell a lot of stories. I know my drawings aren't as good but the originality remains.

The state of Brunei collapsed economically and financially in 1906, the British, despite being a colonizer, stepped in and managed to turn around the situation. Today, under the same ruling dynasty of the 1906 collapse, will history eventually be repeated?

When a Good Deed Affects Others

Recently in Seria, I saw someone do what was clearly intended as a kind gesture. He bought a meal for a homeless man and invited him to dine inside a café. I genuinely respect the compassion behind it.

That said, I have mixed feelings about how it was handled.

The man appeared to be homeless, looked like he hadn't showered in quite some time, and kept staring at other diners. It understandably made some people uncomfortable, especially since there were many families with young children in the café.

Before anyone misunderstands my point, I'm not saying we shouldn't help those in need. We absolutely should.

What I'm questioning is whether helping someone should also take into account the comfort of everyone else sharing the same space. If the person offering the meal truly didn't mind, perhaps he could have sat and eaten with the man at the same table, or bought takeaway instead. That way, the act of kindness would still have been carried out while minimizing any discomfort for other customers and respecting the café environment as a whole.

Kindness and consideration don't have to be mutually exclusive. It's possible to care for someone in need while also being mindful of the people around us.

I'm interested to hear other perspectives, as long as we can discuss this respectfully.

The current situation I face and I have no hope for it

The picture tells thousands of words. I draw this myself because I like originality and I admire the art of Picasso 🥀😔

It is really bad.

Well, where does the money goes actually?

Do the math, atleast 3 billion bnd/year just to pay govt civil servants their salary with no motives to move forward, just MIB (Meeting Inda Beranti)

No consequences. No accountability. No punishments.

Everyone is too comfy with their salary (pension, benefits, loan anything, enjoy miri, still have have) to see the country sinking.

No major developments for future wise economic growth, the slow as fuck system the govt does right now, lack of accountability.

Lack of job opportunities, lack of government support or system for private sectors, too much regulations, too much control and capitalism.

To be a proper country,

- Proper Public Transportation

- Tourist Attractions (Lots of potentials but too much MIB)

- Big Proper Industrial Companies (Manufacturing, Technologies, Automotives) we have none in a bigger scale

- Self Sustaining In Food (Beras, Gula, Livestock, Veges)

- Systematic Government (Efficient, Transparent, Accountability, Fire those useless gaji buta people)

- Good Academic School System ; More Courses ; Relevant Fields that GROWS our country besides O&G.

- IT Professionals (Our BIBD & almost all government websites are so old, outdated, shit)

- Proper Shipping Port (Increase Our Trade)

- Proper Roads (can't say much)

- Proper Healthcare System, build more hospitals, that employs more locals (What even 3 hours wait? Our population isnt even that big)

We have none of the above.

At the moments, lots of businesses are closing down, food pricing are nonstop increasing, apartment buildings halfway completed, investors running away, Rimba Jewel is not even a discussion, increase in crime rates, can't even afford to fix our shitty road, all govt buildings are old, almost everything still looks the same as what it was 10-15 years ago, what else?

Are you guys blind?

Should I say more?

Is it really that bad? It's 2026.

Can people stop going to australia to pick fruit illegally? you’re gonna ruin the visa for everyone else

Seriously what is wrong with some locals going over to aussie on a tourist visa just to work illegally on farms?

It’s so selfish. Do you guys not realize that when the australian border force catches on and starts cracking down, they’re going to make the tourist visa / ETA strict as hell for the rest of us? innocent people who actually just want to go there for holiday or graduation are gonna end up getting grilled at airport customs or rejected completely because of this. Look at what happened to other countries , you want that to happen to us too?

I get that the local job market is trash and i-ready pay is low, but breaking the law overseas and risking getting blacklisted and deported just for quick cash is not it. If you want to go work there then do it legally, stop ruining our passport reputation just because you’re desperate.

TIL that President Mobuto of Zaire (DR Congo) was so corrupt that his personal budget exceeded the budget for all roads, schools, and hospitals of the country combined. He embezzled $5 billion over his reign. Much of the country's foreign aid received was diverted to him personally.

Nepostism at its finest

I worked at one of the company that i would say multi-million company in Brunei. But it does practices a nepotism, a hard core one.

Me and some other friends have benn struggling and busting our ass for the company but our KPI still only got C. But for those yang jadi kesayangan i would say, yang bkraja 'seasonal' saja, anu mukanya nampak bemusim sja, atu plg yg dpt A atau B. and this happened, almost every year. Plus, all most of them yg dpt A or B ani, memang jadi orang2 terpilih urang2 management. Kononnya:

  1. Pandai bkraja, padahal urg management atu memilih staff that they keen into.

  2. Urg2 pilihannya atu, malar kana bawa meeting tapi sebenarnya kosong. inda tau apa2. masuk k opisnya, antara hilang (kononnya eksen2 sbuk) atau mliat netflix sambil mempump susu utk anaknya (bukan untuk lakinya 😂).

  3. Bkraja pun ikut season sja. Anu setahun sekali saja munculnya. Lps atu, kana puji mcm bkraja sepanjang taun. Iatah nganya yang pandai psl management kami nampak. Padahal kami urg bawah2 ani tau drg bkraja atu cemana.

  4. If we (kami yg jarih2 bkraja ani) compare our workload with them, dui ma.. bukannya kan ambung, jarih lagi kami ani.

  5. Plus, orang2 managent kami atu yg actively creating a toxic vibe, spreading cerita2 urg yg urg lain inda patut tau.

  6. And selama ku bkraja dsana atu, inda pernah kami2 yg inda kana sayangi ani kana bagi ruang untuk bertanya apa kekurangan yang perlu kami baiki and perlu kami buat supaya performance kraja kmi atu makin baik and menepati kemahuan drg. Langsung nada. Yang kami dpt tau 1 saja, kami2 yg jarih ani bulan favourite dan urg2 kesayangan drg 😂 so drg biarkan saja.

  7. Balum lagi ya menyumpah, pushing people, merendah2kan orang.. keturunannya sja yg sempurna, iatah nganya paling pintar. Tapi sebenarnya ya kosong, mcm nda tau apa2. And, yg hairannya, ya cuma membuat cematu arah urg yg dpt dmkannya. Bila arah urg yg ya tau memang melawan, inda ya cematu. mcm sibanar mcm ucing, bckp lamah lambut tapiiii mulutnya blakang2, memang puaka tu.

Some says, tunggu ya branti baru tah aman company atu. But if we just let it happen, it is unfair. Inda adil. The system is lurus tapi urg yg memigang system atu salah guna. Then digunakan lagi untuk mengugut, threaten staff nya.

Some of us did talk to one of the bosses tapi no respond. Just a counselling session yang ujungnya 'sabar saja ah..' 😂😂 Apa kan ni?

Plus, kami ani langsung bah nada kana antar training especially arah kami ani byk muda2, at least antar kah training untuk character development, managerial training kah apa kah. Alasan, NADA BUDGET!!! Asal kan dipropose untuk training, one of the management will say ' ani dpt ni kami mengajar eh' 😂😂 kalau tah banar bckp cematu, in-house training pun nada bah 😂 tapi inda kami mau one of them mengajar.. ya mentadbir companya ani pun mcm kapal pacah, inda btantuan, urg2nya saja jadi pilihan. Inda jua jua kami mau kana ajar barang2 cematu 😂😂 balum lagi bercerita pasal micro-management and too much hierarchy in making approval and decision 😂😂

And 1 lagi, drg management ani, suka membagi kraja arah staff bawahan tanpa pengetahuan boss department or officer incharge. Yatah kadang2 boss department or officer incharge ani mcm palui inda tau apa2. bukan sekali sekala tapi malar cemani ani.

Baru sikit ni. byk lagi sebenarnya. Jgn luan dibuka aib atu. Sebenarnya, this companya internalnya chaos. The system atu kana manage ulih urg inda pandai manage. Dari luar, urg mliat waah siuk eh.. tapi hakikatnya.. malas kan ckp psl sudah ku crita sikit di atas 😂

Inda tau tampat lain, but this is what happened in a company yg multi million dollar company, a company that i foresee can go more lebih baik dari ia masa ani. Dont say aku inda bersyukur tapi when this happened to you, are you gonna stay quiet? berdiam diri? indakan.. memang biskita pun inda puas hati kalau benda ani terjadi.

We need our new management, a younger generation that can drive and manage this company or at least someone have the charismatic and leadership to help managing this company.

Bah atu saja. Sebenarnya banyak lagi tpi biar tia atu saja. Doakan saja yang terbaik untuk company kami ani.
Semoga yang terbaik buat syarikat kami. Ok gais. Mudahan jua ada lagurnya nanti ah. Mana tau ada timbul arah blue screen pertukaran management kami tpi inda plg smpai k blue screen tu tapi bulih jadi jua. hahaha jgntah dpkirkan tu.

At this rate it's going to take at least 5 years in total to fix!

IMHO Radio Televisyen Brunei should welcoming National Free-To-Air (FTA) Private Independent television station competitors challengers to close gap to Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia

https://preview.redd.it/h4aj9d732cbh1.png?width=980&format=png&auto=webp&s=d87fc7a177068e4ac36b6bd04828c734f2c25406

RTB welcoming National FTA Independent Private TV Channels competitors challengers are the great idea and not to stuck only to RTB. We know Brunei needs Private FTA channel similar concept to RCTI (Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia) in Indonesia and TV3 in Malaysia.

Welcoming FTA Privates in Brunei will improve television market and advertising will be the key to long-last and I hope Brunei government treat all channels Equally.

Proposed Bandar Seri Begawan International F1 Street Circuit racetrack concept. Brunei Grand Prix F1 in the future?

Bandar Seri Begawan International Circuit concept map

The F1 logo

Brunei Darussalam still yet to host any world auto racing sport to date. Can be suitable for Formula 1, Formula E, Asian Le Mans Series, Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and also Asian Formula 3 Championship. Permanent bus stop chicane and hairpins can also become the prime overtaking spot. Brunei Darussalam still yet to host any popular international auto racing events.

The SOAS mosque section also can be a great spot for watching racing

I also interest to F1 since 1999 but I want to see Brunei Grand Prix become future F1 Race to increase F1 interests in Brunei.

Your opinions?
