Surface Pro 7 Keyboard dying. Help.

Am I correct in that Microsoft no longer sells type covers for the Surface Pro 7? And near as I can tell, replacement 3rd party ones all require having their battery charged independently of the Surface Pro? That's a huuuge bummer if this is true...

Future Xbox guy with a question

I don't get what the server thing is. When I get the game, do I have to like... Consider which server to join? Can't I just play or am I somehow gating myself out of an experience by choosing the wrong server? If I start, and my friends start later, can they join me? Or would I need to start in a new server with them? I just don't get it.

Edit: thanks to the helpful and encouraging people providing responses. Super excited to get into this game when it lands!

The game is the tits.

Second full playthrough (like... 100%ing playthrough). It's just so damn good. The gathering of the First Scholars and explanation sequence is just SO rewarding. The relationships that have been built, the stakes... It's God-tier writing.

Just a gush post. Nothing more. I suppose that counts as low effort... But I just gotta gush to people who will understand and care. CrossCode is lightning in a bottle.

Help: Good for my use case?

Hi all! I'm considering buying. Perhaps you can help me.

What I want to be able to do with PDFs are three functions:

1: highlight text 2: underline text with the pen (not a text highlight and underline, but draw my own underlines right onto the PDF) and draw arrows freehand 3: write notes that are affixed to specific spots in the PDF that I write by hand, but which get translated to typed text

If these functions work, and are exportable, then this device seems like a dream to me. But I need to confirm first. Thanks in advance for any advice/thoughts.

Rippers with a good floor show?

Question for you, Winnipeg. Which of your strip joints puts on a good floor show? Not a place that has a lame slinky floor show because they really only care about selling lap dances. One where they got ladies who can pole dance like athletes. Any like that?

And yeah, the Arts and Culture flair is appropriate. Sex work is work. And pole dancing is dance. No hate.

Outsider Opinion: Tony's, no contest.

I'm not from Halifax. I'm from Victoria, where I constantly hear complaints that we don't have Halifax-style donair. And we don't. But what that meant was that when I planned my trip to Halifax I did my due diligence and researched what places to hit up for a solid late night drunken Halifax donair.

My research led me to several posts of Reddit that clearly oscillated between Tony's and Randy's. Randy's and Tony's. So, I decided to go whole ham on both.

In Victoria, I am the President Elect and Grand Poobah (yes, this is sarcasm) of the Victorian Society for the Scientific Study of Food (but this is a real group of people). We meet to conduct rigorous double-blind taste tests in major food categories like "best croissant in the city," "best Korean fried chicken," "best donuts," "best coffee" and more. Check my post history for the results, if interested.

The point is, at the core of what we do at the VSSSF is comparison. We get the food side by side, eat them at the same time, usually in a double-blind setup so bias and prejudice doesn't get in the way (the roughly 10-15 other participants at each taste test are also all foodies with strong opinions, which we try to control for).

For this Halifax donair situation, I had no bias because I've never had a Halifax style donair in Halifax. But I did uphold the commitment to direct comparison. I bought a donair from Randy's, my wife from Tony's, simultaneously. We walked swiftly to meet up with each other in the middle (facilitated by the closeness of these two institutions). And then we hunkered down to eat.

Without a doubt, no contest, not even close, Tony's won. Credit where credit is due, Randy's meat had more spice, which I like. But their sweet sauce was a goopy mess. Their assembly was in shambles (is it even a donair if I can't feasibly pick it up?). The bread/wrap was thin and owing to the excess of sauce it couldn't be tasted at all. Whereas Tony's was clearly assembled with precision, carefully wrapped in both plastic and foil. The sweet sauce was flavourful but not overwhelming (and with a much more pleasant consistency/texture). Their meat was tasty AF (but could have benefitted from a bit more kick).

I frankly don't understand how this could be up for debate based on this experience.

All around, I gotta say, food in Halifax and surroundings have been excellent all around. Has many great beers, too (Shoutout to Burnside Queen Bee). Loved all my bites of food in this delightful city of yours.

Until next time, Halifax. Keep on cookin'.

Edit: I'm realizing, based on the comments, that some people are reading this as if Randy's was a mess, and Tony's wasn't, and for that reason alone I'm dissing Randy's. That isn't accurate. Tony's was messy too. Many, many napkins used. Basically a drippy soup at the bottom of the plastic when all was said and done. I would absolutely not character Tony's as NOT messy. But Randy's was so messy I couldn't even feasibly hold it. It felt like something to be eaten with a fork (and they did, in fact, provide a fork when Tony's didn't). But obviously eating it with a fork doesn't make sense cause then you aren't biting the pita along with the contents. So, all in all, it was messy to the point of confusion. Whereas Tony's was simply messy.

Edit 2: Wound up going to Ravana's before hitting the airport. Stone cold sober, so, perhaps my observations are even more meaningless that those from last night given how these comments have led me to believe being close to blackout drunk is inseparable from the donair experience. However, I'll say Ravana's was closer to Randy's than Tony's in presentation/structure, but still much more manageable than Randy's. However, the meat at Randy's was definitely superior to Ravana's.

Given the similarities between Randy's and Ravana's, and how different Tony's was, it began the question: is Tony's simply not doing the genre right? Or do other places share similarities with Tony's?
