Mega Siamese was my ultimate goal since I restarted the game.
Before, when I wasn't very into trading, I was willing to overpay however much it took to get my dream pet because i'd rather have a pet I actually like than a bunch of high-value ones that I don't even care about.
But since most of the adopt me content I see on the internet is about profit, rising and falling of pet values, and things like that, I focused more on that aspect and became hesitant to trade away my valued pets even for the pets I love.
I overpayed kinda a lot for my siamese, about over 20 op. I love my siamese so much, but I can't feel fully happy about it because the lost value keeps bugging me for no reason.
I don't miss the pets I traded away at ALL, and I would be so much more bored of the game if I had kept my high value pets instead of getting my siamese.
So I don't think it's the pets/the trade itself that I regret, it's just the idea that I lost value that makes me anxious.
Which is also confusing because even if I had the value back, there's nothing i'd rather get than the siamese.
It's pretty frustrating! I wish I could be happy about my dream pet without the value I lost constantly being on the corner of my mind. Does anyone have a similar problem?

Mega candicorn was another one of my dream pets
At first I didn't like it because of it's hair shape, but now I find it very cute(◍•ᴗ•◍)❤ the rainbow color-changing of the mega also suit it pretty well! Because it has so many colors it's never boring to look at.
Now that I feel better I can be happy about this! A mega neon Siamese is now mine! I loved siamese cats from the start since I returned to the game. Because of the value, I never thought i'd get one but I did and i'm overjoyed!!

If you want to upgrade your inventory of htt in-game pets but don't know where to start, try this
Grind bucks and buy a bunch of eggs/pets and make the pets mega
Sell the megas for Fly/ride pots. Personally I found people were more willing to trade potions than pets for htt megas.
Better chances if you overpay. Because the pets are still in-game, if you keep grinding, it's not like you'll run out completely.
Then trade the potions for better ett pets on trading sites. There are a surprising amount of people willing to take a bunch of ride pots for ett pets on sites like AMTV.
Obviously this will take a long time, but you won't get anywhere without working hard

For some reason purple colored pet wear that is also pretty seems hard to find for me.
By oldest I mean i've been wanting it for a long time, I think it was my biggest dream pet when I was a kid.
I gave a NR goose and FR sakura spirit for it, I don't know if the trade was good but i don't mind since I don't think i'll be trading the arctic reindeer.
