Even the name of it is different in the English dub, it’s called Case Closed.

Now if you’re like me, then you probably were introduced to this series via the English dub, and you fell in love with the characters, such as Jimmy Kudo, Rachel Moore, and Richard Moore, etc. so when the English dub ended very abruptly, the translation from English dub to the Japanese dub was very smooth, right?

Except it kinda wasn’t, at least for me. I remember, it being so jarring when the Japanese dub used the actual names of the characters, such as Shinichi Kudo, it definitely took a bit to get used to it.

Even the names of the places in the show were changed, such as Osaka being changed to Canada.

I never could understand why they did this. I watch a lot of anime from the 90s and this is a rare thing.

Now I’m not trying to be a party pooper, I love the back shot memes as much as the next guy but I don’t think that what Kenjaku did to Kaori’s corpse gets treated as despicable enough as it should be.

For one, we don’t know the state Kaori was in prior to her corpse being possessed by Kenjaku, perhaps she was alive and Kenjaku killed her, or maybe she’s just recently died from an accident or something, when Kenjaku found her. Or maybe they even killed her themselves, prior to possessing her. If you think about it, if she had died before, that adds another layer of existential horror to what Kenjaku did to her, desecrating her corpse.

If you think about it, could you imagine seeing your loved one and reuniting with them, not realizing they’re being possessed by what’s essentially a 1000 year old mad scientist? Though saying that, there is some suggestion that displayed that Wasuke and Jin both knew something was up with the person they knew as Kaori, yet Jin willingly slept with her, crazy.

This adds an extra layer to the Sukuna and Yuji dynamic, both were born as freaks. Sukuna with his obvious deformities and Yuji being the result of an experiment that involved the desecration of a woman’s corpse.

Sukuna wasn’t kidding when he said that Kenjaku does the grossest things…

Due to the influx of TF Sukuna posts (mine included) a sudden thought came to my mind.

Giving birth to him must’ve been absolutely painful beyond belief for his mother. Childbirth is already traumatic and sadly for a lot of women, fatal when dealing with a normal average sized baby. So you could only imagine how much pain Sukuna’s mother must’ve been in when giving birth to him when he has four arms, a stomach mouth, and that facial deformity. It was made worse by the fact that her physical condition was already poor due to the starvation she endured during her pregnancy, which caused the embryo that would become Sukuna fusing with his twin brother’s embryo.

I don’t blame her for abandoning him when you consider that he nearly killed her by just existing, lmao. Perhaps she died shortly after giving birth as well.

There’s absolutely no downside to creating a shikigami, providing you have enough CE to pull it off. So why then don’t most powerful sorcerers, such as Special Grades, create them? Someone like Gojo can, Sukuna absolutely can (not counting Ten Shadow Shikigamis) in his past life, as we can see that even ancient sorcerer, such as Dhruv still possess the Shikigami they’ve created.

Now you might say that there’s absolutely no reason for someone like Gojo or Sukuna to create their own Shikigami since they’re more than strong enough on their own but what’s the harm in becoming _even_ more stronger? The same argument could be posed to Sukuna since he has his two cursed tools when he doesn’t even need them.

Even for sorcerers on the weaker scale, if they poured all their CE into creating a Shikigami, you can imagine that it would be massively helpful for them, by virtue of having something else to fight with.

I feel like Shikigamis in general are unterutilized in JJK outside of specific CTs, such as Ten Shadows.

Old vs New.

I recognize the old one was probably harder on Gege to draw so he changed it to what we have in the manga and the anime, but I feel like the previous design was much better at getting the deformed and almost inhuman monstrous aesthetic of Sukuna across, and it looks more realistic to how an actual facial deformity would look.

The current design of his facial deformity just looks like bones sticking out of his face, whereas the older design has a more seamless and natural look to it.

Now I know you might say obviously Sukuna’s mere existence is unrealistic but Gege took serious care anatomically when drawing Sukuna, so I feel like this is my only gripe with his design.

Maybe I’ve been affected with the surehit of the reading comprehension curse but outputting RCT always seemed to me to be an ability you’re born with, rather than something you can learn.

My biggest reason for believing that it’s a talent is the fact that Shoko (who looks very pretty in this panel btw) can output RCT whereas Kenjaku cannot, who’s the most knowledgeable person in the JJKverse and they’ve never shown the ability to output RCT. Seems to me, it’s just an ability that you’re born with.

I’ve seen the ability to output RCT being shown as a reason why Sukuna was always stronger than Gojo, (not that he isn’t because he is) and was destined to win their fight but I don’t agree with that.

Since the “role” of the six eyes is gone now, how likely is it that we never get a new six eyes user? Especially since Tengen doesn’t need the Star Plasma Vessel anymore, I think the chances are that it’s very likely.

I personally think that a one handed Domain Expansion hand sign is the best one to have. There’s no downside, compared to a two handed one. If you’re missing an arm, and you’re out of RCT, then there’s simply no way of opening your domain. Even for exceptional cases, such as TF Sukuna, even he had to resort to copying Gojo’s handsign once the rest of his arms were maimed. The only way to stop a person with a one handed Domain Expansion hand sign is to remove both of their arms but that applies to two handed as well.

So we know Mei Mei broadcasted the entire Shinjuku Showdown so imagine the reaction of the watchers who right after seeing Gojo vs Sukuna, witness Sukuna reincarnate into a 4 armed, 4 eyed, and two mouthed beast of a man.

What I find even more amusing is people have always debated whether a human being could be born with a fully functioning extra pair of arms, and most agreed that it’s impossible (so I’d imagine in the JJKverse, people would as well). Then all of a sudden, you see Sukuna having not only four arms, but an extra mouth on his stomach.

I’ve been unironically pondering this for a while now, I wonder if her biology would render pregnancy impossible? I mean, wouldn’t her stomach mouth prevent her from becoming pregnant?
