It's hard to wake up for Fajr prayer so I've developped an impossible to snooze alarm

Salam aleikum!

For the past two or three years, alhamdulillah, I’ve been consistent with my Fajr prayer, but it’s still a struggle. It’s difficult to wake up at 4–5 AM to pray, and I know I’m not the only one. Looking at my friends and family, I know that many of us struggle with this.

And the problem with regular alarms is that you can just snooze them and immediately fall back asleep, so they’re not really a reliable solution...

So I started looking for apps/alarms that you can’t snooze. There weren’t many, and the few I found were either paid or filled with ads. So I decided to build what I was looking for: a free, smart, and halal alarm clock (since using the Athan as an alarm is discouraged).

Most importantly, it’s impossible to snooze the alarm unless you complete a specific task: scan a QR code, walk 100 steps, do some mental math, etc.

I’ve also added a leaderboard, challenges, badges, and social features to encourage consistency with Fajr AND Tahajjud, because that’s the next step, inshaAllah!

Right now, I’ve released the beta version and we have around 30 beta testers. If you’d like to join, join the Google Group first: https://groups.google.com/g/betatesters-for-fajr-app and then you’ll be able to download the app here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.appforfajr.app !

Pivot
