For what reasons do you think sailing isn’t popular recreationally for the general public?

I think the amount of work that goes into it is a large deterrent for most. Could another be the skills involved? Most people could learn to sail over the course of a day, but is that another thing keeping people off of sailboats? I’m sure most people just want to drop a boat in and drive off, but if the goal is to be out on the water then what difference does it make? Maybe we’re a strange lot. I think the cost of keeping and sailing a cruising dinghy is much less than any motorboat, and sailboats can be bought for just a couple hundred dollars that are adequate to get a person out on the water. Maybe I’ve answered my own question, but I’m curious what others think.

Long shot: question about Zuma tiller.

Hello all, I’m wondering if anyone has information about the tiller on the Zuma sailboat. I’m looking to find out the dimensions of where the tiller connects to the rudder so I can make a new temporary tiller for my father’s boat without having access to the measurements for myself.

Any idea on what this boat is? I’ve always loved the look of a gaff rig, and the dual dagger boards are interesting.

Got out on the trapeze for the first time today.

Just wanted to share. I’ve got a Laser II that I take out solo most of the time, and today I finally had the guts and opportunity to get out on the wire. Wind was going strong when I was prepping the boat, but it settled down shortly after I got on the water. Fortunately I had a couple opportunities to get up on the trapeze and try that. What a cool feeling! Then, the wind died and I spent some time getting to know the boat better and seeing how it behaves under certain circumstances. Can’t wait to get out again in a steady breeze and see how far I can push it!

Probably an incredibly long shot, but does anyone know anything about these sails or what happened to them after filming? (Scooby Doo, 2002)

Mariner 2B6A1 Help

Hello all, I’ve got an old Mariner 2B6A1 that I am having trouble with. It will start great from cold and run for a while, but after some time and warm up it will die off. I can get it to run again, but only for about thirty seconds and each time after that the run time gets shorter and shorter. It does not see to be an issue with fuel delivery because I have taken the cap off completely while trying to run it, as well as other checks have led me to believe that it’s getting sufficient gas. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks!

I love that I can fit the Geno’s rifle on the command wolf. Overkill?

Just finished the Genosaurer today. Tough build for a novice like me! I really think the command wolf is my favorite so far.
