Veneer marks

Veneer marks

I have stripped this and I understand how to fix the veneer chips. But what do I do about the darker marks? From what I think this is African Mahogany, quarter-sawn and was a very dark moghany color with a lacquer finish prior (you can see an unstripped piece at the bottom of the photo). Do I bleach the wood, raise the spots with steam? I want to dye and refinish with lacquer back similar to how it was once I am done with whatever repairs are possible.

French polish

Hello, can anyone point me to the best resource to learn how to restore the clear coat shellac on my 15-91. From what I understand it requires French polish but I need more guidance in how to do this and not damage the decals.

Tinted lacquer vs dye

I have a singer cabinet I am trying to bring back to life. I have stripped the lacquer off and without sanding I am not seeing much stain to remove, just aged. My assumption is they only used a dark grain filler and a tinted lacquer. I do not have a spray set up. Could I potentially use kenda dye and then apply a clear satin spray lacquer and achieve a similar look? I am also having a hard time finding a oil based grain filler. Could I use a water base and seal in between?

I tried some stain and I do not like how it looks at all. It just doesn't have the depth and almost looks to cover the grain.

Singer Cabniet from 1953

I have removed the lacquer that seems to have been a toner. To get back to the original color do you think a thin coat of amber shellac and Mohawk perfect brown toner would do it? Any other suggestions?

1952 #65 Singer Cabniet

What would be the best way to fix the various scratches and scratched finish. From what I can tell some of the color is in the laquer and it is a very thin mahogany veneer.
