FLOW

This is a followup to my post A COLOR STORY.

One thing that helped me keep a flow to a house that has so many patterns and colors is grounding all the rooms with similar light neutral rugs. They balance the accent walls and allow each room to be unique but also connected. I continued this with hallway runners. I also repeat patterns and shapes throughout the rooms in carpet, furniture and accessories. Additionally I used the same window treatments in every room.

The other idea I had was making pretty landings, there are four of them, keeping each unique but tied together. The planters are the piece that achieve that. I use plants or fresh flowers and it feels lavish but really is low cost.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback. I was stuck for so long creatively and this project reawakened it all. YOU helped🌸

A Color Story

Started with a brand new bright white house and once I settled on a palette it came alive. I love when the home flows and feels cohesive. I think I am accomplishing that!

Posting for my girlfriend who is not active here. She is looking to tweak her home and would like any suggestions or thoughts that come to mind.

I have gotten great feedback; even when I don’t agree with everything I appreciate the comments, so I encouraged her to do the same.

What do you think?

What is general consensus about rugs under dining table? I have done both over the years, pros and cons to each.

Which look do you prefer in this space? It is one large rectangular room so to me this helps define the area. All the other rooms in the house have cream-colored rugs and dominant accent walls but this one just popped for me, I think it ties together my whole space. (The chairs are green in daylight.)

Thoughts? Curious whether this will be 50/50. Thank you for feedback.

How do you feel about rugs under dining table? Lots of pros and cons. Pretty but can be messy. This makes it anchored and cozy to me. I am ignoring that it is white and that we eat here 🙃
