Which tile color do you prefer?
My GF and i are about to remodel our toilet and can't decide on a tile color. The walls will get a plinth and brass inlay like on the first two pics, with the tiles coming in the positions of the last two pics.

Hey everyone,
I keep running into the same issues whenever I want to redecorate or redesign a space:
Anyone else deal with this? Curious if a tool that let you upload a photo (or dimensions) of your room, generate an AI redesign, AND only show you real furniture that's guaranteed to fit your actual space — with prices included — would that be useful to you? Or am I missing something obvious that already solves this?
Just moved into this super nice well fitted flat. It came furnished with a coffee table and couch, but the walls are bare. I’ve just moved into so I brought my plants, I have some art, and I have a red rug to place under the couch / table. It’s a nice flat - but right now it’s too sterile and hotel like - I want it to feel more homey than minimalistic . Any input is appreciated!! Thanks
Hi everyone, first time posting here.
I’ve been lurking on this subreddit for a while, after seeing so many inspiring posts, I decided to share my own journey of turning an old living room into a studio.
I have zero background in interior design, I’m just someone who’s passionate about it. Learned sketchup myself so I could design the space on my own, and this is actually the first time I’ve brought one of my designs to life.
So I hope you guys like it
Owner; lived here for years and getting really tired of feeling like I still live in a college apartment that I'm going to move out of every spring. Slowly working my way through my unit trying to pull it together, and I'm stumped for what to do with the bathroom because of the colors and limited wall space. (I will not be undertaking replacing the vanity, tiles, or mirror, I sadly don't have that kind of time right now).
First two photos are the view of the bathroom from the bathtub using all lights and then just my mirror lights (warm dim bulbrite 3000K - 1800K 500 lumens). Everything feels too peachy/yellow, so I want to spruce up the walls. The third photo is the view from my kitchen; door is almost always open because of cats needing access to litter box.
So that leaves me with zero inspiration after a month of trying different things, and even if I just do a flat wall, I'm still stuck on wall color for paint. What complements the cherry red vanity, the ick yellow-ish granite countertop, the peach-y ish tile, AND, the navy blue towels? (I just bought those towels and they are divine and I'm not giving them up lol).
Oh shoot - out of order, I also took a picture of the tiny tiles in the shower, and a close-up of the vanity and counter, for color matching.
Any help/inspiration would be so greatly appreciated!!!!
Hi everyone! I am looking for ideas on what to do with this triangular shaped wall. My parents recently purchased this house and it’s the first time they have a home with taller ceilings. This wall is SE facing, approx 20ft high, and 20ft wide, the doors are 8ft tall. It looks out over a lake with minimal concern for others looking in. Would shades/drapery help? If so would you mount it right above the trim or higher? What kind of decoration/art could go above it? Or should we just leave it blank? I added some
pictures around the rest of the room as well, SO much blank space.
I've been scrolling pinterest to find a good color to paint a door and trim in my bathroom and landed on this shade that was part of a color palette post. Not a huge AI fan, but I suck at visualization, so I took some photos of my bathroom and ran it through chatgpt with a screenshot of the color I liked and asked it to put the color on my door and the trim. I felt like it was the right choice and loved the way it looked in the bathroom, so I followed up by asking chatgpt if it could tell me what paint shades were available that could get me closest to the shade in the screenshot, and I happened upon one of AI's many shortcomings. It gave a few shades from different brands that ranged from yellow beige to dusty pink, none of which were even remotely in the family of the warm, grungy, muddy olive tone I was looking for. Next, I implored Google, looking for a website or app that might be able to scan paint shades from across different brands and tell me which my screenshot most resembled. Two seemed promising: My Perfect Color & Hex to Benjamin Moore. My Perfect Color allows users to upload photos, which it then analyzes to provide HEX, HSL, RGB (and a few other acronyms that I didn't bother to research) information for a selected color in the image. I cross checked this using the HEX to Pantone website, which gave me a pretty darn accurate rendering of the color I was searching for. Next came the most harrowing (and ultimately disappointing) step. I crossed my fingers and hoped that the Benjamin Moore repository contained the very specific (though I'd be willing to accept something in the general family of a disgustingly swampy olive green) shade I was looking for. After entering the HEX code, it provided a shade that would better be labeled "utter disappointment" AKA "Wrought Iron." If I was looking for "sad grey" I woulda said that. I ended the day not knowing if Wrought Iron genuinely was the closest shade BM had to the color I was looking for (wrong) or if the tech that the website was using was seriously flawed (sad). I spent the next day searching through the websites of Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, and Valspar to see if any had a close match listed, though the longer I scrolled, the more the paint colors began to merge into one ominous creature of a color that haunted my nightmares. I feared I was losing my ability to distinguish colors and decided to no longer trust myself with this pursuit. I must mention that I decided to also take a trip to Lowe's, where their vast color wall seemed to shrink before my eyes when I noticed their sorely lacking decaying avocado green section. The paint counter attendant also mentioned that they aren't able to color match from a phone screen (lame). Alas, I come to you all humbly and in earnest: somebody plz tell me what color I gotta buy??????
Looking for some opinions and recommendations on my room because something about it just feels a little off to me, but I can’t really figure out what it is. The wall opposite the projector has to stay completely blank since the projector shines directly onto that wall, and the two beds are fixed to the wall so they can’t be moved. I also need to keep the couch, dresser, both beds, and at least one large desk (although I’m open to replacing the desk itself). The shelf behind the couch also has to stay because that’s where the projector sits. Pretty much everything else can be changed.
The first two pictures are daytime with no lights on, pictures 3 and 4 are daytime with the lights on, and pictures 5-8 are nighttime with the lights on. I’m not sure whether the room feels weird because of the lighting, colors, lack of texture, too much clutter, or just too many things going on visually. Maybe some things don’t match, maybe the room needs more texture, or maybe I’m just overthinking it. I’d really appreciate some honest feedback and suggestions. If this were your room, what would you change?
I just don't know what to do with this room at all. At some point in the future this house will have a total renovation, new floors (lighter than this dark brown), new kitchen, bathrooms, and all of the house insulated and rewired. So for the next 3-4 years I just have to find a way to live how it is right now. During the renovation the door and window of this room may be opened up to a large opening onto the veranda, and the fireplace may move to the far wall.
But right now what is the focal point. The TV wall? The fireplace (which is in an odd place)? or the far wall with the elephant pictures? Do I need a very large frame on that wall instead as it's what you see as you come in?
Also colour wise it's a mess. Two old sofas from our old house in mustard and blue and an assortment of furniture. I've removed most of the cushions for the photo as they were also mixed colours.
It's also an issue that it is a big room and almost needs dividing. A sofa on the far wall would be too far from TV and fireplace. Help appreciated.
Hi! I moved into my first apartment a few months ago and I'm at the stage where I want to start decorating it, but I'm feeling a bit stuck.
I like all of my furniture and decor pieces individually, but I have no idea how to bring everything together so the space feels cohesive. It's a rental, so I'm stuck with white walls and vertical blinds. I also need to keep a grow light for my plants because I live in a fairly cold area that doesn't get enough sunlight.
So far, my plan is to:
I'd love to replace my current rug (it's left over from my previous room) and add some wall art, but I can't work out what colours or style would tie everything together.
I don't want the apartment to end up looking like a generic grey apartment, but I also don't want it to feel overly colourful or busy.
I'd also prefer to buy better quality pieces from local or small businesses (where possible) rather than fast-furniture stores like Target. I'm on a budget, so it'll be a gradual process. Unfortunately, there aren't many good thrift stores near me either.
Photos are attached. I'd really appreciate any suggestions, constructive criticism, or general styling ideas. Thanks!
This is an AI rendering of my bathroom decor plan. I think we should color drench the space for drama but my husband thinks it’s “too much”. Help me decide! Go all out with the dark color? Or leave the ceiling and/or door white?
