age ?

I’m freaking out. I just turned 28. I had a tough upbringing, so I decided to go to college and earned my AA degree this May. I had the choice between UF and FSU, and I picked FSU because it felt right, I guess. But honestly, it’s really messing with me. I don’t think I’ll connect with people because as soon as they find out I’m a super senior, things get awkward. You wouldn’t guess my age unless I mentioned it, I suppose I’m genetically blessed. I’m a chill person who just likes to vibe. FSU culture definitely has that, but I’m just not sure, man. Any recommendations I don’t know anyone new to the area. I’ll be transferring in a junior. Ideally want to vibe. Make the best out of it fr tbh

Having doubts about continuing AROTC

Context: I was cross-town cadet, I completed my MS1 & MS2 in the same academic year, following that I got disenrolled in my MS3 Year…given the current state of my academic performance, and turbulence of the army and how it’s being modeled for cadets.. I’m scared I don’t come from the military, I have no immediate family whatsoever who has ever served, I was dreamt of serving I joined rotc because I worked with cadets during my freshman year whom were In their senior year of undergrad.

I’m now 27 an incoming Junior (I don’t look my age at all), and at my last program I didn’t feel I fit in. Not draw in bias, but the fact that I was older not prior enlisted, and also black I felt so uncomfortable. I did score pretty decent on my ACFT, I tried out various things in my battalion including volunteering, despite all of that my PMS decided I was not a fit his words, granted my academics began to crumble around me, thankfully I graduated earned my A.A and I still have this strong desire to earn my butter bars, I enjoyed my time and embraced as much of the army’s culture that I was subtly exposed too as a cadet. Also, I’ll squeeze this in I struggled with anything that had to do with strict instructional material like briefing an OPORD, building a TMK, and last but not least Land Navigation, dude I feel like a special needs kid because younger guys are more familiar with it than I was… I tbh felt setup for failure. I got accepted into a 4- year school which wasn’t hard but it’s really well known, and I’m not sure what course of action I should take I already have so many things working against me.

Curious on perspective first time ever posting Reddit.
