How to help a loved one?

Hi all ♡

I recently started dating someone that I love to pieces. We are getting to do many fun things together, but also more than with anyone else in my life, I want to be there for the hard times, too. He very recently lost someone, and I'm getting to see the strokes of color come back into his life.

His house really needs some love. I know depression and grief kicks people in the ass. I want to help without being pushy. I don't judge at all, but want him to have a place to land that is cozy and safe.

Tips on how to offer without causing any offense? So far, I have been making us both bentos for work! And when I stayed over the other night, as thanks for his housemate making dinner, I did a little extra dishes. We are also planning a date to plant a low maintenance garden, with flowers in his mom's favorite colors, and work on the outside.

I know grief is not something that resolves overnight. Everything is just going to be day by day. Looking for more ideas like packed lunches or the garden that could be something happy :)

Stoner harvest

Don't @ me and my 4 mg T.T

This is nice level because I can still grind away in Everquest 2, and it inspires me to cook which I usually don't.

Mom made the corn salad.

I made more fresh chips to go with the tomatillo salsa, and then fried up the day's 2 shishito peppers with some butter and garlic.

Had a second small bowl of corn salad but was still peckish, so I made an Indonesian ramen. This stuff slaps. Rendang and Sendang (iirc?) are best but not on Amc cazon, and there are no Asian groceries near me :/

Does this count?

Picked up edibles for the first time in almost a decade. I specifically requested something that would "Not knock the socks off" and "keep them on, definitely" or "take the edge off a bad television finale.

Had 2 mg. Played some EQ2. Took a catnap at the office and had a dream it was 2005 and all was right in the world. Did the watering for the day, and had a nice harvest.

Came home, had another 2 mg and made this! I get nauseous easily so I'm starting super small with gummies that are more CBD.

This was homemade tortilla chips and a tomatillo salsa.

Tomatillos, jalapeños, garlic all roasted/grilled/fried with husks on, then peeled. White onion also. Salt, cilantro, lime juice, and into the food processor.

Heartburn be damned I can't stop eating it.

I rarely cook but felt a little pop of inspiration and a second wind.
