Did botox for the first time today!!!

And it was a HEAD TRIP!

I have all the respect in the world for people who do this regularly now. I thought I was prepared with the many videos I've watched, articles I've read, book I ordered here (shoutout to Jay!), syringe techniques, etc etc. But there's things that I just didn't really know until I got to doing it.

I ended up bending 3 or 4 needles just trying to extract the botox from the vial! And then being able to inject at the right angle, get into the right plane, manuever the needle, push the plunger, avoid bending the needle, and measure the dosage all at the same time was challenging. The people online make it look so easy!

Towards the end, I started getting the hang of it and feeling like I was maneuvering more easily. I still do not feel like I mastered it at all and will have to do it many more times before getting to that point. We'll see about the results, I'm super curious. I do feel like I was able to re-treat areas that sometimes it didn't feel like the injector would pay much attention to.

Thank you everyone for all the advice, I love DIY!!

ChatGPT Health is utterly useless

I was originally excited about ChatGPT Health because I have a ton of health issues and records that I wanted kept stored in one place. However, I came to realize that it’s almost a completely pointless service and no better than starting a regular ChatGPT convo.

For one, it doesn’t connect to all medical accounts out there. Not surprising by any means but that leads to the 2nd problem.

Theres no where to store medical records. You effectively have to upload them to a conversation which essentially defeats the entire purpose of this health service and acts almost as just a regular conversation. Sure there’s probably some extra safety built in but completely underwhelming experience.

Already disconnected the couple accounts I added to it.

I can’t wait til I get to a place when I can do filler myself

I just got bellafill injections at a clinic for 2 syringes for $1,250 (filled in my piriform fossa and chin).

I’m nowhere near being able to handle a filler like that (haven’t even done self Botox yet), but she was even giving me some advice on how she does it on her own face and handles safety. I really valued seeing how she worked and injection points she used.

One day (far away day) but I will be able to save a lot of money and do this stuff myself!

Advice wanted: eye area

I’m struggling to figure out what I need to target for my eye area in order to make it look less tired when I smile. I haven’t tried anything besides creams so far (once I got Botox under my eyes and I hated it so much because it like made my lower eyes look like they collapsed! It was so weird). But I’m wondering if something like that is necessary now because of the wrinkles?

I haven’t been able to figure out the right solution, would love advice!

Where to get Bellafill/PMMA fillers?

I currently get Bellafill for my jawline from my aesthetician and love the results! But I’m always sad because it’s usually not enough and it’s very pricey. Any vendors known to sell them? I didn’t see it sold at fillerhouse or estaderma.

I have SO many ugly surgical scars on my body. Any recommendations?

Repost to add pics* (these are only half of them!)

I am dark skinned and I have all of these surgical scars on my body from procedures and they look so ugly. Unfortunately even after 10 years, they are still just as visible. I have tried lightening creams but to no success. They aren’t really hypertrophic or raised but they are very dark compared to surrounding skin.

Any recommendations for things to try?

I am dark skinned and I have all of these small surgical scars on my body from procedures and they look so ugly. Unfortunately even after 10 years, they are still just as visible. I have tried lightening creams but to no success. They aren’t really hypertrophic or raised but they are very dark compared to surrounding skin.

I’ve heard about lasers but there’s really so many scars on my legs/chest that I just didn’t feel like doing a ton of laser rounds only for no success. Any recommendations for things to try?

Reminder: Benchmaxxing is not the marker of a good daily use model

I’ve been along for the journey since ChatGPT 3 was released and it’s a tale as old as time.

New model drops: “look at how much it crushes the benchmarks!!!11!1! This is going to change everything!” Then people start to use it for their actual daily tasks and realize the model is inferior to the previous one they’ve used.

Benchmarks exist for a reason. How can we possibly compare a model performance to a previous one without tests? Otherwise we’d just be ‘feeling’ out models without having strict comparisons.

But think about the SATs/APs/other standardized exams. Do you remember taking that exam? Think about the people who performed well on the SATs. Are they objectively smarter and better than you when it comes to work? Or did they just know how to train for that particular test?

LLM models are no different. They train for these exams because they want to appear better than their peers, more competitive. But unfortunately, this doesn’t translate to better daily use performance.

I’m already noticing that with Opus 5. Its benchmarks show it as more token efficient, extremely smarter than Fable and Codex, yet in most real life tests it’s underperforming its peers. This will likely be the case until it learns and gets tuned or a new model is dropped. A tale old as time.

Does Glassdoor reviews signal anything about OE-friendly jobs?

Take a look at your existing Js. Then, look at their Glassdoor reviews. Is there any correlation between how positively a company rates vs. how feasible it is for OE? Anything accurate about work life balance from those reviews?

Both of my Js are in the mid-3’s and I would still peg them as pretty OE friendly.
