Im (28f) dating a (34m) professional poker player should we continue dating or marry?

Im dating a professional poker player.l and idk if we should continue or break up as I’m not sure i see myself being successfully married.

I have a good career and own my home and have a good academic foundation. My poker player bf had been playing the entire 3 years we have been together. He has good 80k in savings invested and funds his own life. He never ever asks me for money and openly volunteers to pay for things for us like dinner and buys me gifts.

My issue is with someone like that in the uk how can we get a house together and how can I merge my stable finances with someone thats unstable and could one day lose money.

As a person is has good will power and discipline eg doesnt drink and goes gym and says hes in it to make money and he wouldn’t continue if he wasn’t making any.

Money aside our lifestyles are v different. I have a standard 9-5 life whereas he plays during the night. It means hes usually sleeping during the day and available in evenings. He manages to see me a couple evenings a week and we have done multiple holidays during our 3 years together (we play for ourselves). Things that i struggle with are like we dnt really ever do anything early morning on weekends like brunch.

Personality wise he is very calm and patient and just my type. Hes v caring and mostly considerate (not v house trained but its not that bad). Hes meshed well with my family and been lovely to all my friends or anyone hes met. He doesnt really have any friends but seems generally content and happy with that himself.

Aside from seeing him mostly evenings if i ddint know he was a poker player i wouldn’t really suspect we could have a life together. He is funding his own life well however financially i worry about merging my life with his and and what happens when babies come into the picture with his schedule.

Edit: Ive seen other subs talk about how poker players manage bad losses. Bf doesn’t ever take it out on me and manages his emotions v well just generally. I’m probs the more volatile one lmao.

Edit 2: tbh I dont know if i want kids yet either or if I’m facing pressures to have kids as I approach 30 but im just more focused on these things more

Doing well but so bored of everything can’t figure out how to increase income

On paper I’m doing well, good job own place. Independent and organised and managing to keep it all going. Some friends, decent family and a nice bf. But my god I am bored. Life just seems the same all day, I want to make more money but have no clue how and I want life to feel just a little more exciting. It feels so dull.

I say all this to say I started youtube because I think it would allow me to meet new people and get exposure to new cool opportunities. Its obvs not going well and I haven’t made impact from my channel.

I have other cool hobbies like gouache painting, lego building and running. I essentially thought youtube would be a good business essentially and allow me to live a fun life. But I hardly make time to film and post.

I think I just keep stopping all hobbies cause they arent making me money. I want to start a small business or find a way to monetise hobbies in my life but feel so stuck.

Making money and having my own schedule is v important to me but I have golden handcuffs and have to a lot to maintain to uphold my current life. I’m fairly frugal but wont just quit to peruse some non existent business hope or content creation.

Id love to start a small business but just have no clue how to get started with anything. I analyse things so much i get nothing done. Like I feel ive made no progress for years now but I am going up the career ladder but its so dissatisfying

Do i need to work harder or give up

I started off posting travel content on my youtube and have now been posting whatever I feel like lego videos or self help questions or makeup videos. But i hate the filming and editing process and im not making good progress on youtube! I’ve got less than 100 followers and its not growing at all. I want to make youtube a full time thing but with working 9-5 and longer hours editing after work is so draining and ive been struggling to post consistently.

Idk if I should give up or go harder on posting on youtube. I sometimes don’t know what to post but think a little too much about the impact of my videos like is it gonna help anyone or not and dont post just anything.

I always think about how its about the process more than outcome, outcome of a good youtube channel would be income, new opportunities but recording and editing videos just isn’t enjoyable. I see a lot of influencer style content and its hard not to try and post that kind of stuff but reviewing stuff you buy but to me that sort of channel isnt v sustainable.

I want to create a life that I enjoy but also make good money thats my ultimate aim. I’m not lazy and do have more time to dedicate to youtube but i sometimes struggle to post as idk if my videos are interesting or i dnt enjoy editing.

AM I GIVING UP TOO SOON ESSENTIALLY? I understand youtube is a long term game. If i didnt work editing and filming would be a lot easier

Edit: acc i love videos just yapping to the camera about life and people. They’re easy to edit and upload and i feel like i also help people when i make content like that
