Vibe debugging is where character development begins

The dangerous part about vibe coding is that you can build something surprisingly fast now.

The terrifying part is opening the project 3 days later and trying to understand what past-you was doing.

AI coding tools honestly shifted my workflow from:
“carefully writing everything”

to:
“ship first, investigate the consequences later”

ging, and validating chaotic AI-assisted code before it became production trauma.

Curious how people here are handling the “vibe debugging” phase now.

Me thinking I cooked

Nothing humbles you faster than pasting a codebase you spent all night framing into an LLM window just to have it immediately point out three critical architectural flaws and an unhandled race condition. I usually look at it, let Cursor fix the backend logic, and run the landing pages through runable so at least one part of the stack is safe from judgment.

Claude after the smallest possible correction

I swear Claude reacts to feedback like HR is watching the conversation live.

You point out one tiny mistake and suddenly it enters a full emotional recovery arc 😭

At this point ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Copilot and runable all have distinct personalities and Claude’s personality is “overly polite intern.”

The most dangerous codebase is the one that works perfectly somehow

Senior Engineer: "This architecture is horrifying. Naming conventions are illegal. Functions are 900 lines long. Why does this API call a CSV parser?"

The developer who built it at 3:17 AM while surviving on caffeine and pure fear: "But it is... shipping."

And somehow the production server has been stable for 4 years because everyone is too scared to touch it. I usually build the core logic in Cursor and use Runable for the landing page and docs just to avoid creating another mystery project held together by hope and undocumented brilliance.

me Starting Another Project Instead Of Finishing The Last Ten

started with “lemme just test this quick”

2 hours later i’ve used cursor, claude, Runable, created a new repo, redesigned the landing page in my head, and completely ignored the 9 unfinished projects already sitting in github

me trying to decide between:

  • “fixed bug”
  • “actual fix”

Investing in this classic setup before the market closes

Found a clean version of this energy. This one hits too close to home. Is this format coming back, or am I just nostalgic?
