Hi all,
I’ve been in Sydney for few years and here to stay.

Slavic Canadian background, work and live in the city.
I love hikes, beach time, ocean dips , dancing, standup comedies , exploring new spots around the city and anything involving good conversation and good laughs.

Hoping to meet someone kind, sporty, genuine who values connection, adventure and good company.

Has anyone successfully passed a Priority Skills Assessment with missing “work chart” / marketing plan documents?

I’m in a really stressful situation and would appreciate honest advice from anyone who’s gone through VETASSESS or a similar skills assessment.

For my current role, I have everything they ask for:
- payslips
- employment contracts
- reference letters
- organisational/org chart
- marketing plans/campaign docs

The problem is my previous experience.

I worked at a Canadian bank in a marketing role, and I have all the standard evidence (reference letters, payslips, tax docs, etc.), but I do NOT have the org charts or marketing plans they specifically ask for under Priority Skills Assessment.

Because of restructuring, my old managers are gone and HR won’t provide internal marketing documents or org charts due to confidentiality/compliance reasons. Realistically, I don’t think I can ever retrieve them.

If that previous experience is not accepted, I likely won’t have enough years for a 186 TRT pathway right now.

Current situation:
- Employer is willing to sponsor me for 186 eventually
- My current visa expires in 2 months
- We are now preparing a 482 because I don’t yet have the skills assessment
- I’m trying to decide whether to risk applying for the Priority Skills Assessment now with a detailed letter of explanation/exceptions request to VETASSESS, OR wait another year and apply later once I have enough Australian experience from my current role alone

Has anyone had VETASSESS accept alternative evidence when confidential marketing documents couldn’t be provided?
Would you risk applying now, or play it safe and wait?

I’m worried about wasting time/money on a refusal, and future appeal complications, but also worried about losing time by waiting.

Any experiences or advice would really help.

I’m not a big drinker , more into sport and nature, but love to go out socialize once in a while. It’s a nice vibe on Thursdays.

Hi all,
I am in corporate role , and wonder if I can apply for extension to work for employer beyond 6 months ?

I worked 6 months hybrid in the office, then moved to new place and 6 months remote.
We plan to do sponsorship.

Now approaching 6 months for 2d visa , can I still apply ?
And what to provide except employment letter ?

Edit: we also prepping for sponsorship, should I mention it in the same letter from employer?

Hi guys, I have mixed messages from immigration lawyers regarding 6 months rule.

My 1st WHV was June 2024 till June 2025.

I completed 88 days

In Dec 2024 I applied for extension for 2d year in advance knowing that it may take a while.

It was approved same moment in Dec 24

I thought I have 6 months corporate work in June 24-June 25

And 6 months corporate rights in June 25-June 26.

I started working for corporate in Feb 2025 and assumed that I have extension for 2d year from june 2025 to 2026, so continued till November.

Now I’ve been told it’s violation and I should have stopped in August.

But I can’t find info on website that extension date would be from approval day and I could not carry over my 6 months corporate from 1st visa to 2d.

Sorry for long message , but maybe someone been in same situation?

Employer now wants to sponsor me but lawyer says it’s a risk and I should not continue working with them.
What should I do ?

I’d love to meet some like-minded people to hang out with. I’m into fitness, coastal walks, spa/self-care days, happy hours, dancing (salsa/bachata), concerts, surf, beach time, stand up comedies or just chilling and having a good laugh.

Not a big drinker or party girl, but happy to go out occasionally — more into good vibes than big nights.

I’ve heard of amazing running club culture here but unfortunately it’s not my thing, and I’m not early bird unless it’s for surfing or traveling.

I’m Slavic/Canadian, easygoing, and really value genuine connection.
