what was dallas like in the 90’s?

i’m trying to write a book, and i wanna make sure i’m getting the little details right. what do you remember about what dallas was like in the 90’s? what bars did you frequent? was the culture any different than it was today? thanks in advance!

coppell isd vs plano isd?

sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this. i’m new to the area and was hoping someone could help me out with this decision. so far, it seems like coppell has higher scores, but a way smaller district. when putting my kids through high school, which one seems better?

is there something american that icelanders would appreciate having that they can’t normally get?

hello! we’re going on our trip to iceland in late july, and we’ve heard of other countries appreciating americans bringing virginia slims or kentucky bourbon or other specifically american things. is there anything like that in iceland that might get us talking points with the locals?

i’m worse now, and i hate it

hello! i found climbing after healing from a wrist injury because i wanted to grow stronger arms. i had been doing it pretty religiously for a year and a half, but then i graduated college (woo!). this means i finally got the chance to teach (my dream job!), but it also means i didn’t have any time to go to the climbing gym because all my time was being taken up by being a middle school teacher. i know it totally makes sense for me to not be as good as i was, but i’m still bummed out about it and needed a place to vent. this was my first time bouldering after about five months of not even having time to think about having hobbies; of course it wasn’t gonna be the same. it just sucks that the human body restarts and that i let it get this way. c’est la vie ig
