The first tactical squad completed for the XVII legion, Star of Judgement chapter of the Word Bearers. Trying to achieve a late heresy look with mixed armour and some CSM bits added in.
Really enjoying these as a hobby project and learning a lot as I go from using different techniques. The red is sponged on, then utilising an oil wash and pigments to make it a bit Grimdark.
Not sure if these appointments are actually that bad? 🤔 or it’s just they’re the refs who are more memorable to me for shit decisions against us!
I still think we’ll have enough about us to get something Sunday, but please don’t ask me where my optimism comes from 😂

First batch of 5 tactical marines done, really enjoyed these after deciding a batch of 20 was too much and splitting them into 5’s, made it much more manageable with results showing quicker to spur me on!

Thought I’d ask the question and hopefully someone has had better luck than me!
I’m converting some Ashen Circle using MkII assault marines, I’m struggling to find both the Axe-rakes and wrist mounted flamers from other kits/etsy/cults3d/etc. I don’t have a printer so the one pictured is difficult for me to use unless I can find someone to print for me.
Anybody got any suggestions or ideas?
