Melepas WNI dan Visa diaspora

Gw 29M, status PR canada currently kerja IT (lulus S1 di sini terus kerja dan jadi PR).

Status keluarga:

  • Ortu cerai.

Salah satu faktor kenapa gw pikir dua kali:

    • Tapi in the next 5-10 tahun sih kayanya ga bakal balik dulu karena masih kerja juga.

What do you think about my plan ? any complications?

Interested in CAF, concerned about medical

I have been thinking of applying to CAF either as a Sig O, CELE O, or other relevant trades after I'm eligible for citizenship (2 years after PR due to time spent in the country) -- I should have my citizenship AOR by late next year, allowing me to submit application into CAF of which would likely take another year or so to process.

I am in my late 20s with a Canadian CS bach degree, currently working at one of the big banks as a dev. Been getting disillusioned with tech in general and a bit concerned about the future due to massive trends towards more outsourcing.

However, I'm concerned on the medical side of things:

  • I've been on daily statin 20mg for the past 2 years due to abnormally high cholesterol for my age and background (doctor says its likely genetics). The condition has been stable since last year since I started the medication.
  • I have flat feet as well -- I heard it can be disqualifying. Wearing orthotics does solve the issue.

Do you think I stand a chance due to my medical or should I just forget about joining ?

Moving to Toronto to get better opportunities

I'm currently a 6yoe mid-level .NET (C#) developer working for a large insurance company on the Prairies.

For both personal and career reasons, I'm looking to relocate to a larger city (GTA, GVA, or Calgary).

Over the last 8 months, I've been applying for higher paying mid-level and senior roles at banks, insurance companies, and other medium-to-large non-tech organizations (avoiding startups). So far I've landed 6 interviews (including 2 internal ones), but none have resulted in an offer. The number of interviews are much lower than what I would expect but probably inline with the current market.

One option I have is requesting a transfer to my company's office in Toronto

Would it make sense to seek a transfer to Toronto first and then start looking for a new role after 6 months? Or does being physically located in Toronto not really make much difference when applying for GTA-based companies nowadays?
