0.5mg clonazepam for 5 years taper timeline

From certain things I've read online, any usage of clonazepam of more than a year requires a 6-18 month taper. I have been on clonazepam at differing doses, currently at 0.5mg a day, for about five years. Would it truly take that long for me to ween off of it? Does anyone have any experience in that same dose and duration range? I wanna make sure I'm doing it safely but I would like to do it quicker than that if possible.

Thank you!

Ashton Manual Equivalency

Hey all! I'm currently reading the Ashton Manual and the closest to my situation is the schedule referring to withdrawal from 1.5mg clonazepam (I am at 0.5mg). Seeing as it doesn't have specific instructions for 0.5mg, I considered just recalculating all the doses and scaling them down, but it is a very long process and i'm wondering if it has to take the roughly 6-12 months process it is suggesting when at my dose. Since the schedule for 1.5mg is a quicker taper than the 3mg schedule they have listed, is it safe to assume a 0.5mg taper would also be quicker? Does anyone have any experience weening off at this exact dosage?

Thank you!

Caffeine on clonazepam taper

Hey all! I'm new to this subreddit as I'm just now weening off of clonazepam which I have been on for about 5 years and I've been at my specific dose of 0.5mg a day for about 4 years now. I'm attempting a taper with my doctor, trying to go down to 0.375mg a day to start. My question is particularly about drinking coffee on the taper. Basically, since weening off clonazepam will lower my seizure threshold, would drinking caffeine, which also lowers that threshold, be dangerous and more likely for me to experience a seizure? I'm not really talking about things like anxiety or discomfort, moreso the physical safety of it. Caffeine has been my crutch and my biggest coping mechanism that has made me feel sane for a very long time now, and I'm not sure I'd be able to cut it out, especially not so abruptly.

Has anyone had experience with drinking caffeine on a clonazepam taper or any insight into the dangers of it?

Thank you!

Hey all, my fault if this has been asked before but I'm just trying to get a gauge on all of this. I've been prescribed fluvoxamine for OCD and I really wanna take it, but caffeine has been my crutch for a very long time. Otherwise my fatigue is unbearable, especially with me also taking clonazepam. So my question comes back to the effect Luvox has with the liver's processing of caffeine. Would I have to cut it out entirely, is there a safe amount I could still have? I'm tempted to try another SSRI that would still allow me to have coffee and maybe one that also isn't as sedating, but all the studies I've read have pointed to fluvoxamine being the most effective option.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Or their own experiences with combining caffeine and fluvoxamine? It's just genuinely something that I don't know how I could give up, especially with the active lifestyle I've been trying to cultivate as of late :/

Thank you!
