Tamil reading

Vanakkam makkale,

I have a reading hobby, and since I have been living in other states since childhood, I did not get formally educated in Tamil, so I have been reading English books only.

We speak in Tamil at home and I learnt to read Tamil from my mother and grandfather only because of my curiosity.

Whenever I hear some patriotic poems in Tamil for example by Bharathiar, I understand the feeling but feel a lack of understanding it intellectually.

Nowadays I feel an urge to learn more about tamil literature and culture but reading books is a challenge for me because of my slow speed and limited vocabulary.

Can you suggest some books which will be encouraging for a beginner because of easy language and engagement.

Also if the pages are less or equal to about 200 pages that would be good.

Preferred genres - mystery, thriller, biography, comedy or anything you think will be engaging for the reader.
