Recently bought a hundred years old house and would like to replace these old receptacles. I’ve replaced receptacles before but never ones that are these old.
I bought some new, ungrounded receptacles. They’ll only ever be used to charge a phone or power a lamp. Anything look off to any of you? Will I burn my house down?
Does anyone know if there’s any way to report water restrictions violators?
The strip mall on 29th where Super1 is located regularly waters their landscaping between 1 and 4 pm.
Is there any way to report them and if so is it worth the effort?
My partner and I are spending some time in Portland for the first time and are both really excited. My partner is a big fan of frappes. Does anyone have any places that they’d recommend?
Edit: I mean a coffee frappe, like a Frappuccino at Starbucks which we will obviously avoid.
I was replacing my pads and rotors and ran into a problem with a caliper. The first caliper piston compressed easily with a c clamp but the other one got stuck. I loosened the bleeder on the stuck caliper and tried compressing it again. It resisted for a bit but than gave way and a shot of brake fluid came out of the bleeder. I tightened the bleeder back down and the piston compressed the rest of the way with no problem. I completed the job and don’t seem to have any braking issues (good pressure, no pulling, etc.)
Does anyone have an explanation for this issue? Should I replace my calipers?
It’s a long story but I live over in Spokane and ended up with 60 swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) that I’m not planning on planting because they’re not native here.
Southern Idaho is probably the closest area to Spokane where this species is native so if any of you so happen to be driving through Spokane, you’d be welcome to them!
I have these cracks in the inside corners of my plaster walls. I’m new to plastering and was wondering the best way to repair them.
My thought was to fill the cracks with hot mud, embed paper tape into the corner and then cover with more hot mud.
Once they’re fixed, my plan is to skim coat the whole room.
I’m new to plastering and have been working through repairing the cracks in my plaster walls. The last one I have to fix is this inside corner. Some of the pieces sound hollow as I tap on them. Here are the two options I’m considering:
Remove all the pieces and replanted the area. The thing that worries me here is rebuilding the actual corner.
Use plaster washers and drywall tape.
Once I have all the cracks repaired I’ll be reskimming all the walls
