Looking for fantasy books with a Semi Constitutional Monarchy.

I want to read a fantasy book with a government system that has both a king and some form of democracy. Any Recommendations?

Thoughts on this guy?

If you don't know, his name is Ben Bartlett. He passed away a few months ago, in April. Just want to see who will recognize his work.

Pictures from inside Cordoba's town hall?

I'm imagining a story that takes place across the U.S, Mexico, and Brazil. The climax will take place inside the city hall in Cordoba. Unfortunately, there are no images of the inside of the building on google. Could you help me out?

Where to start with Raymond Chandler?

I would like to read some works from Raymond Chandler, or at least add him to my TBR list, but I want to know what books I should read first.

Any suggestions?

What Movie/show is this from?

I saw these images from a YouTube video, and I want to know what movie it is from. In context, these images were from a video about a commander in German East Africa, (now Tanzania) during the first World War.

Thanks in advance.

Book where America becomes Isolationist, allowing a new Caliphate to arise and Chine to become a World Power.

Long ago I was surfing the internet and found a book with the premise of what if the U.S. headed by a group called the Freedom party, leads America into isolationism, leading China to become a major world power and a new Caliphate to start gobbling up Muslim countries.

Does anyone know the title of the book?

Edit: Solved. The book is Prelude to World War Three.

Thoughts on my art-based magic system?

Right now, I am working on a magic system based on different fields of art and I would like some feedback on it.

General Lore: At the beginning of time, a Goddess known as Quanah created the universe as an art project of sorts. She wanted to create a world where she could share her art with the world but had to wait billions of years to get that wish. Then a mere hundreds of thousands of years, humans came into the picture. They were the first creatures to truly have the discovered art. Each time a new form of art was created/discovered, a piece of Quanah entered into the object used to create that art, creating Kalaths. For example, the first musical instrument created became indued with Quanah's magic. There were seven created in total. Art, (as in drawing or painting) Music, Dance, Sculpture, Fashion, Theater, and Storytelling. If you combine all seven, you are able to talk to Quanah and ask her for a wish. Unfortunately, due the rules she set in the universe, every wish will create its opposite, often a disproportionate opposite. The only wish that was ever asked of her was one to bring back a loved one. Sadly, in response Smallpox was brought into the world.

Here is what each Kalath can do:

Art: Anything you can draw will become physical, but they don't come to life. I am deciding whether or not you can use it to transport, where you draw yourself in a location and then you appear in that location. The Kalath is a charcoal pencil.

Music: I am not too clear on what this one can do, but as of now, it has the ability to play with someone's emotions. Another idea is that it is an illusion-based magic, where particular melodies cause people to see different things. The Kalath is a bone flute.

Dance: Your physical abilities are heightened. You are essentially granted super speed, durability, and super strength. The Kalath is a bracelet. (I don't know what else it could be.)

Sculpture: Anything you create will comes to life, but they aren't lifelike. For example. you can create a human statue that comes to life, but it doesn't speak or think. The Kalath is a bronze chisel.

Fashion: Any outfit you create will give its wearer increased confidence and enhanced abilities, (though not as powerful as Dance). If a lot of people are wearing outfits you are able to control them using the Kalath. The Kalath is a bone needle.

Theater: You can shapeshift into anything or person as long as you keep acting like that thing or person. The Kalath is a wooden mask.

Storytelling: You can create one being of any kind and can control it using an object you use in the creation process. The more powerful the being, the more storytellers are required. The Kalath is a shaman necklace.

Thoughts on my magic system/what to improve?
