Knotting outside of the A/O, discussion

I’ve been working on a couple of stories lately with nontraditional couples like: Male Alpha/Male Alpha and Male Alpha/Male Beta.

Does/did anyone else here try to figure out how to write open-door scenes with these couples, how to deal with the rut and knots? If yes, wanna share? :)

  1. Are Alphas in your world even capable to form a knot with another designation or only omegas (in mine, they can. It’s more attraction and the feeling of ‘this is my person’ and the body wanting to have a child although logically in male A/A and male A/B pairing it’s impossible).

  2. Do you write male Alphas/male Betas receiving the knot as ‘fine’ or is there some sort of preparation necessary? (In mine all designations aside of male/female alphas are quite unequipped to receive a knot; therefore a preparation and care IS necessary for the partner not to be injured).

  3. Can your alphas withhold the knot (aka not go all the way)? In mine: yes - have some crazy disciplined little masochistic alphas sometimes haha.

Anyhow; whoever wants to dive into this discussion with their own worldbuilding/ideas/question is welcome :))

Gay detective/crime book, Jo Nesbø style

Hey! Pretty specific thing I am searching for, not sure if it exists… Currently reading ’Never stay gone’ by Tal Bauer and although I love his books and his style I’d like to read something even more focused on the crime solving, but still keep the ‘crime solving duo gay romance’.

- Modern day (or end of 20th century but no victorian era please)

- More plot than smut (open door scenes are fine as long as they aren’t 1/2 of the book)

- Male author if possible

- The plot makes sense, has research behind it…

- big plus if it’s a series :)

Sarah Moon, Fashion 11 Yoji Yamamoto (1996)

I recently discovered this magnificent and dreamy fashion photographer and I do wonder if anybody here has some cool insight into her work and/or behind her inspiration? I keep staring at her color and b&w photographs and wonder what it reminds me of and I genuinely cannot put my finger on it… some abstract expressionism maybe, little bit of Ernst Haas in the blur (Or even Gerhard Richter in his ways of interconnecting painting with photography). Some postimpressionism in the way she works with color and with negative space (influence of Japanese concept of ‘ma’).

I did find she works with Polaroid in her color photoshoots so maybe that is it?

I just feel like I’ve seen this type of working with a silhouette and color and blur somewhere and cannot figure out where exactly.

Any insight helpful!

Looking for MM verse couple recommendations

Hello, I’m looking for a rec for a verse couple, the genre doesn’t matter much although I do prefer fantasy/sci-fi but can also be something else.

It has to have a meaningful plot, yearning/slow burn.

The ‘vibe’ (most aren’t verse though) I loved so far:

- ‘Ocean’s Echo’ and ‘Winter’s Orbit’ by Everina Maxwell

- ‘A Strange and Stubborn Endurance’ by Foz Meadows

- ‘The House in the Cerulean Sea’ by T.J. Klune

- ‘When the Tides held the Moon’ by Venessa Vida Kelley

- ‘A Marvellous Light’ by Freya Marske

- ‘Open, Heaven’ by Seán Hewitt
