We are headed to Punta Cana in a few weeks. I’m reading a lot of negative reviews about the food hygiene and people getting E. coli and other nasty bugs. Am I being paranoid or should I find another destination where I won’t poop my brains out all week.

Also, I’ve been once before a few years ago. No issues that time and I even accidentally brushed my teeth with the sink water the first day…

My husband and I booked a trip to Punta Cana back I. March. We leave in 10 days. We’ve been once before in 2018, and had a good time. I am seeing a lot of comments and reviews about travelers to this area getting sick due to water and poor food hygiene.

I just have had this feeling that we should look at changing the destination. I also just generally don’t feel as safe this time around.

I expect this comes with a sizable expense but am I crazy for even thinking about this?
