Therapists cancelling right before appointments?
My insurance covers therapy at Talkspace and the past 2 therapists I've tried to connect with cancelled right before the appointments. The first one cancelled an hour before our 6 pm appointment stating she had a procedure and thought she would be okay for our appointment but wasn't feeling well. I decided to go with a different therapist after that; the 2nd one cancelled our appointment 15 minutes before it was scheduled saying that she wasn't feeling well (some upper respiratory tract infection) and couldn't make it to the appointment. Also, I work as a psych NP in an outpatient setting and understand that illness/emergencies happen but if I got sick or had an emergency would do my utmost to notify my patients ahead of time. Even still after the 2nd last minute cancellation I was frustrated/upset and told the psychologist that is rather unprofessional. Am I overreacting?
