To start with a bit of context, I'm deaf - I use cochlear implants to hear. This will be important later.

I'm lucky enough to have a garage gym. Lately I've been leaving the garage door open while I work out. The weather is nice at the moment and I get a nice breeze.

While I'm working out I sit on the gym bench in between sets with my back to the road. I also do not wear the processors for my cochlear implants as they get in the way If Im lying on the bench etc.

In between sets I set a timer on my phone then will just scroll until rest time is up. As I'm scrolling, a post in a fitness sub pops up of a middle aged to older gentleman showing off his gains. Im scrolling the comments and something possesses me to click on this profile.

The first post that pops up on the profile is this person in all their glory, the hog just hanging out. No big deal right? I'm an adult, i've seen it all before. Only problem is, just after this post comes up on my phone, I sense some movement out the corner of my eye.

I look around and there is the postman looking quite awkwardly at me. Turns out he has a package for me that needs to be signed for. Poor post man caught me apparently looking at naked old men in between sets.

TL;DR: deafness caused me not to hear the postman behind me who caught me looking at naked old men on my phone.

I've had my Kanso 2 since January 2024. I have the off the ear processor.

This morning I put it on and everything sounded 'tinny' is the best way to describe it. I googled it and the results said try changing the cover or putting it on the charger to get any sweat/moisture out.

None of these have fixed it, and the sound quality is getting worse. I've sent an email to the audiologist I see but I live in a regional area so it's a 12 hour round trip. On top of that I have bi-lateral hearing loss but only use the left implant so I can't hear without it, and I'm supposed to start a new job in ten days.

Has anyone had this happen before? At this stage i'm assuming its equipment failure but just thought id hail mary to see if there was a fix.

Hello! I love reading and when I've got the free time I'll often go through a few week.

My problem at the moment is I just can't find anything that interests me which is unusual for me.

At the moment I have a craving to read books that follow the character(s) over long time periods or books that are somewhat 'adventure' books.

I love books set in the south of America around the 50's for some reason (I'm Australian and have never been to America) but I love books that portray the harshness of farm and anything that highlights those fighting against the Klan.

Please help me find something to read!!
