Is Leega Korean BBQ restaurant in Gheringhap St Geelong still opened? It says it’s temporarily shut on the website. We were going to try and go there tonight for dinner.
Hi all, hoping to get some advice from electricians in Victoria (Geelong area ideally).
We’re in a newer estate in Highton (house ~12 years old) with underground supply.
We currently have what we’ve been told is a 2-phase connection, but:
- Our meter is labelled 3-phase (3P 4W, 240/415V)
- We’ve been told only 2 phases are actually connected/used
- 3-phase is available in the street (pit)
/ We’re planning a solar + battery install + future EVs + full electrification, so looking to upgrade properly to full 3-phase rather than doing a workaround system.
What I’m trying to understand
If this ends up being the case where:
- pit has 3-phase
- existing underground cable only has 2 phases
- 👉 what would a typical upgrade cost?
Assumptions
- Standard residential block
- Meter box already 3-phase capable
- Underground service (likely conduit already there)
- No idea yet if driveway needs to be crossed
Questions
We’ve had some conflicting advice from a solar installer, so just trying to get a real-world electrician perspective before proceeding.
