Need advice: I can’t keep listening to these dogs suffer
Is there seriously nothing that can be done about dog neglect?
For years now there have been dogs near me that live entirely outside, seemingly with no interaction, let alone affection or stimulation. No matter the weather, they are just there outside, ALONE.
They are constantly crying, no matter the time of day. The crying often becomes something honestly hard to describe, it’s a seriously disturbing cry and it goes beyond normal barking or whining and sounds constantly distressed. It genuinely makes my stomach drop.
I’ve reported things like this to the RSPCA multiple times over the years, but they seem actually useless. The threshold of neglect is ridiculous, if the dog has access to water and a slither of some shelter, it doesn’t qualify as serious enough neglect for them to step in…..?
I don’t see the use in confronting anyone, partly because I am a woman living alone and partly because I also don’t think people capable of treating animals this way would respond constructively.
I am just heartbroken for dogs that are taken into homes, to experience a life of simply having to look at a fence, suffering through all weather conditions and completely alone.
I feel incredibly helpless at this point and wanted to ask if anyone has genuine advice, experience, or can suggest ANY avenue other than RSPCA.
