A LOP-SIDED secondary trade deal to allow Patrick Dangerfield to move to Geelong won’t get past first base with the AFL’s integrity watchdog.
David King has suggested a side deal between the Crows and Cats could be an answer to a potential trade stalemate over the star midfielder.
Adelaide is set to become the first club to match a free agency offer, rejecting the AFL compensation pick (likely to be No.14 in this year’s draft) and forcing Geelong to make a trade.
If a suitable deal can’t be done Dangerfield can stay at Adelaide or go into the draft.
But King says the Crows could keep the compo pick and still end up with a fair deal if they trade a C-grade player to the Cats in exchange for an A-grader such as South Australian youngster Cory Gregson.
It sounds a lot like the infamous “Veale deal’’, one of the most notorious trades in recent AFL history.
Untried Hawthorn youngster Lochlan Veale was traded to the Western Bulldogs for pick 6 in 2003 and delisted a year later without playing an AFL game. He played this season for his home town Colac in the Geelong Football League.
The move was part of a complicated trade to get Hawks forward Jade Rawlings to Whitten Oval via the pre-season draft. And it worked, although Rawlings wasn’t the star the Dogs hoped.
But there is one major problem with trying something like that again. Every trade has to be approved by the AFL and that only happens once salary cap watchdog Ken Wood ticks off that it represents clear commercial value.
The league confirmed to the Herald Sun today that clubs can’t make one-sided trades that impact other teams.
Wood has written to all 18 clubs with a warning about rorting the cap and reminding them it is against AFL rules to arrange side deals that are unofficially linked to free agency moves.

I played a few hunches about how players will develop and improve. I bsck Clark in to lock down a spot. Stevens is my smokey. He just won a liston.
Sounds crazy to say. But is SDK best 23? Hes not ahead of sully and there's an argument not jenry either.
If so. And we can get Marshall and pick 8 for him... should we?
Possible improvements. Swap Edwards for Marshall, greene for Wiltshire.

I bsck Stevens in to improve but he would get replaced by a star mid probs if we can get one. Worst case bring in axe or oconnor. Theyre reliable performers.
And for who?
For him to speak so calmly and with such clarity and positivity, while he has tears in his eyes. Says so much about the character of Chris Scott. So lucky to have him at the helm. Love ya Scotty.

I've been burnt too many times from omni kitchens finding bits of meat where there shouldn't be, and I don't trust average joe's respect for cross contamination etc anyway. also I want to support vego/vegan businesses also. No omni kitchens please.)
Someone suggested it and I had to try it. Wasn't super effective, and I'm rusty as all diddly. But was still kinda fun. Worth it for the meme value.
Haven't played in a while, bit rusty, but thought I'd check out the new Jump Jets with my Vapour Eagle. I'm digging it.
