I had to leave gizmo for a month for a holiday I had booked before I rescued him, luckily found an amazing lady who looked after him for me… this was his reaction when I came home he’s not left me alone since and I’m enjoying every second of it

So I the company I work for has recently introduced a “no phone” policy in work. Previously we could go on our phones with zero issues but since the change things have just got complicated and confusing and it’s really become a lose lose situation.
So I’m perfectly ok with not using my phone my previous job was no phone policy the issue arises with a message from my boss saying I’m not checking the group chat enough and if I don’t start responding then I’ll get a disciplinary. Now the confusing bit is another member of staff was threatened with a disciplinary for the complete opposite issue. She got a text from the boss saying she was caught on her phone in work hours and when she said it was to reply to someone about work she was then made to scroll through her messages to prove it was work related
AIO? Because to me it sounds like the new boss is just a fucking idiot implementing contradictory policies and applying them as he sees fit whilst leaving the door open to penalise those he doesn’t like by implementing such a strange and contradictory policy
You can’t have your cake and eat it too. No phones should mean no phones unless it’s an emergency not no phones but your allowed to use your phone if it’s work related but you must waste your time proving it was work related with receipts and time stamps
So literally just no matter what we do we feel like we’re going to get in trouble. This isn’t the only change they have made that absolutely makes the staffs job harder and more frustrating. It’s like some people’s whole goal in life is to suck the joy out of the smallest most benign things
