Chilling with the S2000
I was talking / texting my girlfriend tonight and had a view of this beauty
Also side note I just moved to a new house. I’m not even 25 yet and my car insurance dropped from $450/ 6-months to $380/ 6-months…

I got side swiped by someone who illegally crossed the white line (where the exit lane diverges). Thankfully insurance did not deem myself totalled, especially with the complexity of having a Japanese vin number in the US.
Since then I found another S2000 (USDM) owner locally. While she did try to scam me out of our trade, I was able to contact her friends to get what I was promised and money back for work that was never done. But I did swap out my carbon bonnet and carbon intake (not pictured) to go back to stock. I also got her RPF1’s (which she stripped parts of the original finish). Now I just need coilovers and to swap exhaust with someone with a quieter, non-OEM dual exit setup.
(I put the AP2 V1’s back on my daily driver)
Car is getting detailed + paint corrected this weekend. I just need to lower her, order a Greddy Lip, subtle side skirt flare, and my OEM+ build is pretty much complete. Quick considering I got this S2000 mid-March and the accident happened early-April.
Insurance:
An actual adjuster came out. They estimated ~$3,000 of work is needed claiming the bumper and fender need replaced. I spent less than half that as a body shop repaired it, no filler was used. Rest of the payout is essentially going towards cosmetically restoring my S2000
I got my S2000 repaired after a sideswipe. I will go in for a paint correction shortly but this indoor facility is pretty sick to say the least.
Again my goal for my RHD S2000 is to use this for spirited driving, I don’t plan to track mine. I like an OEM+ car, which is why I went back to a stock bonnet and intake.
Other things I want done this summer is:
- Paint my Forbidden hardtop white (not pictured or installed)
- Coilovers w/ -1.0° (at most) front camber and minimal ro the rear
- Refinish the RPF1’s
- Ceramic Tint
- Replace TCT to a better one
- Valve adjustment + AP2 retainers
- Stainless Steel braided brake lines
I want to get the Diversion plate on the left to clean up some of the look as I had to remove some aftermarket intake mounting points that the previous owner installed. This website that makes them has this promotion that if you buy the skid plate, the diversion plate is half-off.
Since I will lower the car this week by around 25mm (1 inch) should I get the skid plate or is this overkill?
I have a RHD S2000 and I live in a LHD country. After talking to a couple of people who are more knowledgable on S2000’s and seeing a mechanic, I can attribute my passenger window (Left) + soft top not responding due to a faulty Soft Top Control Unit.
Unfortunately when I check Ebay, the RH (bottom) is what I need but they are all from abroad. I can potentially order one from Colorado from a company called Module Mechanics who supply the part number for RHD module.
The LHD module (upper) is far more readily available and less of a hassle to deal with.
Has anyone ever swapped the two modules and had success using a LH on a RH S2000, or vice versa? This is a long shot of a question but I figured I should ask.
“The thing” is something that the CR-Z community always did when they see another CR-Z, so I recreated it with another GPW S2000!
Finally got the CR-Z detailed, I’m getting the S2000 lowered and I need to get the bumper + fender repaired from someone sideswiping me a few weeks ago then I detail + ceramic coat that too.
Also I decided to put the AP2 V1’s back onto the CR-Z because it just looks so much better than black wheels
