Small upgrades and improvements.

*(Please ignore my amp cable im still working on it)*

A couple of weeks ago i installed the K&N intake which i originally wanted to go with the Takeda one but didn’t wanna risk a CEL since ill be moving to a state that does smog. At first just the K&N gave the car a tiny bit more pep not much but noticeable and also noticed my MPG did not change. Car revved a bit freer and added a nice induction sound and it felt a bit more responsive. Beforehand i needed to downshift and put it in Sport to even pass someone. Today i decided to install the Ge8 Fit RB1 manifold and was extremely easy to do surprisingly, while i was in there i decided to change the spark plugs with factory recommended NGK Iridiums and they were definitely due for a change. Off the bat the car started right up and while revving in neutral there’s definitely a bit more induction noise than before. Took it for a spin and didn’t really notice a difference until i really hammered the pedal and felt more torque in the midrange and at higher rpms but it’s too soon to tell if my mpg’s will change. Overall im happy with both upgrades and will leave everything else stock for now.

REC90 Fuel

Found a gas station with REC90 and the Z seems to love it. Wayyyyy better gas mileage and noticed it was the same price as regular here which was strange

Sunroof/moonroof install?

I’ve been considering installing a moon roof/sun roof (whatever) on my Z. I don’t need it to be motorized, even just the older manual style would be fine.

Is there an OEM set up? Or would I just install something off the shelf or from another car?

This is at least partially related to the AC output for my Z. It took almost 45 minutes to get the cabin cooled down yesterday. Hot day, dark dashboard; but the AC always seemed undersized.

Also, just some fresh air circulating would be nice.

Anyone have ideas? Success or horror stories?

Putting the poverty button to use

Since the CRZs are kinda notorious for letting the 12v battery go under charged I decided to add a volt gauge. I found one on eBay that was blue and just about the exact size of the poverty button. I only had to trim a bit of the back of it to get it to sit flush. Once I get a 3d printer and learn to use CAD software I'll make something that looks more OEM.

Finally got to do the thing (and parked the wrong way)

Quick grocery run leads to elation. There’s a handful of CR-Zs in my town and I always get excited when I see one.

2011, 6MT, 216k miles, what to post it for?

Thinking of selling my 2011 6 speed. Door handles have been replaced with metal ones, has no issues at all. AC blows cold, no warning lights on dash, tires are almost brand new. Located in SoCal, not exactly ready to let it go but curious what you guys think I could post it for? Clean title

Windscreen trim coming loose

This trim piece/molding along the top of my windscreen has come loose. Has anyone here replaced theirs? Curious about how easy it is to replace, and if anyone knows a good place to order the part from (I am located in Europe). Any tips or experience appreciated!

Fixed my AC finally

Finally got my AC to work properly this crazy summer.

Lesson of the day is the single gauge ac in a can is never accurate.

Is a 2011 Honda CR-Z with 165k miles worth $5k if the hybrid battery was replaced?

I’m looking at a 2011 Honda CR-Z with about 165,000 miles. The seller is asking $5,000, and the hybrid battery was replaced about 2 years ago.
Is $5k a fair price for one of these with this mileage? I know Hondas are usually reliable, but I’m not super familiar with the CR-Z or how long the replacement hybrid batteries usually last.
Anything specific I should look out for on a higher-mileage CR-Z? Also, would this still be riskier than just getting a regular Civic/Corolla, or does the newer hybrid battery make it a decent buy?
I’d appreciate any advice on common issues, transmission reliability, hybrid system reliability, and what a fair offer would be.

200k miles!

JUST HIT 200K MILES!

2011 Honda CR-Z EX CVT.

Minimal problems so far honestly. I just had my AC go out... Which is bad for how hot it's been but I have an appointment with my mechanic to fix it on the 7th, just gotta thug it out til then.

I plan on doing spark plugs shortly since I don't know when it was last done and I know it's supposed to be every 100k. I got the car 2 years ago at 180k.

Any other maintenance suggestions for where I'm at?

I recently did oil change, CVT fluid change, coolant change (added some a pillar gauges including a coolant temp so I had to, I plan on making a post about that when it looks s little more professional and less... Home-made lol), I also got new rims and painted my calipers but that's not really maintenance.

Fitting a digital/camera rear view mirror

Hey guys, I’ve just got a road angel halo vision2 for the CRZ, my partners driving it now and struggles with the rear visibility (fair point lol) so I thought that this might sort it.
However, looking at wiring it through, because the camera needs to be on the rear window I can see it being a bit of a pain to wire.
Just thought I’d post here and see if anyone’s had any experience with wiring a camera from the rear of the car through to the front and if so, what route did you go? Thanks in advance! P.s. really happy to be able to keep the CRZ driving on with my partner, love the car, on 170k miles and still on its original clutch, albeit a bit high now!

08 Si wheels

I feel like you don't see Zs on these wheels very often, but man they look like they belong on it. Such a huge improvement over the black 16s

Stock suspension

5mm spacers on all 4 corners to clear calipers.

215-45r17 tires

Ride still feels the same as before. The steering feels a tiny bit heavier, but hardly noticeable. Idk about mpg yet.
