Seller Lied About Partial Refund Agreement

This is my first time selling on Depop, and it’s been a horrible experience. The seller offered me $100 lower than my listing price for the item. I declined and then she said she found it from someone else for a cheaper price. The next day, I lower the item to by $10-20. She purchases it!

She received it yesterday and immediately disputed it and escalated it claiming it’s a different size than what she thought. It’s for a Jellycat. It was my mistake as the seller to not list the size, but I didn’t think to since the other size is retired. That is my mistake, I learned from that. I just asked her yesterday how much she was thinking for a partial refund but then explicitly said twice that I would like to wait until we hear back from Depop first.

Then today, she messages and tells me Depop says we can do a partial refund or she can fully return it. I didn’t see it for a few hours. I still hadnt heard from Depop myself, but I told her I dont want to do a partial, only a full return. Depop had just closed the case and issued her a partial refund and then she blocked me! Now she has my item and my money.

I already emailed Depop and submitted an online form with screenshots from the conversation where I said I didn’t want to do a partial and wanted to wait until Depop reached out. Has this happened to anyone? I don’t know what else to do, or if I am just SOL.

Is this real? It is for a really good price so I’m more wary. Not sure if color/shape of the body looks off.

Depop Dispute

I recently sold my large sacha snow tiger on depop. I got it from the most recent restock and just wasn’t in love with it. The seller received it today and instantly disputed it. The reason they listed was because they thought it was the Really Big one. They kept calling this one the “Regular” sized one. The Really Big one isn’t listed on the website and I indicated in my listing that it was from the most recent restock.

The sizing is also significantly different between the Large and Really Big sizes, and I think it would be really apparent from the photos if it was the Really Big one. The dustbag was also in the photos which could also provide a frame of reference.

The seller originally offered me a low offer to which I declined. Then they said they got one for cheaper from someone else. Then a day later they bought mine at the listing price. Just seems weird, especially because the price for the Really Big is around 3x the amount I sold mine for.

I reached out to Depop with proof of purchase, screenshots from the website with the only two sizes listed on the website, and the link to their sizing guide page.

Has this happened to anyone? Do you think they will side with the buyer? This is my first time selling on there.
